Underrated hero this year is Mike Tauchman..where would the Cubs be without the Palatine pounder.. reminds me of the pixie dust the Giants got from Mike Yastrzemski a few years back, except I think Tauchman is better and a legitimate starting caliber player, what a find by Jed!

How much of that is due to Wes' 4 innings vs Arizona and Leiter Jr being Leiter Jr? Don't disagree that they've been much better since that 8-0 debacle vs SD but.. this bullpen is far from legit IMO... this could be a 20-6 team right now... But I do think that they will eventually be good, maybe even dominant with 1 more piece

The Cubs have dodged some major bullets over the last few years. Bryant extension. Baez extension. And apparently a Hendricks extension.

Great win to salvage the day after the brutal loss earlier.. the upcoming Astros, Brewers, Mets series' will be crazy. All really good teams so far except the Astros, who will probably get it together at some point

The Cubs had Amaya bunt today despite 2 guys in front of him getting a knock, but the other day in Arizona, no bunt/squeeze play for Swanson when the Cubs had a 1 run lead in the 8th inning if I recall. Just odd timing to call it today especially with Amaya swinging a hot stick lately..
