  1. Yeah right. Jed will make damn sure it’s a guaranteed second year! Have to impact our mid-market budget for 2025 as well.
  2. This team can be a real f****** disgrace at times. I’d do just about anything to have Hoyer fired and a different owner.
  3. Starting to get ridiculous
  4. Im sorry to you as well, sir.
  5. Haha he sounds like a one of a kind type of forum member. Always sucks when you lose people like that. I thank you and David for the history lesson though and for keeping his memory a part of this place. And anytime you want to share more stories, I’d love to hear them! From any and all of you longtime posters.
  6. Well that’s just amusing! I’m sorry to all you guys for that loss.
  7. I was annoyed by this expression myself, but now that you’ve explained it that’s actually very cool. Well done, to all of you.
  8. I see the two of us are in agreement on what a Bellinger contract would mean for our spending going forward. It’s sad we have to think this way, but I guess it is what it is.
  9. I just want us to spend aggressively on the right players. Ohtani, Yamamoto, Harper, Gerrit Cole types that are more sure things. I feel Bellinger has enough red flags in his history where I’m not comfortable handing him a mega deal. Sadly, my view is also skewed by the fact that I don’t trust this organization to spend every offseason. So signing Bellinger leaves me worried we’ll use that contract as an excuse to not attempt Soto next year, or player X the year after that.
  10. Interesting. I’m really afraid we end up overpaying for Bellinger to save face. And I like the guy. Can’t thank him enough for his 2023 performance. But Bellinger scares the crap out of me going forward.
  11. I think he’s a really good value based on where contracts seem to be heading. I thought I read that he wasn’t much behind Yamamoto stuff wise, he just has trouble with giving up hrs. Having said all that, I’m more comfortable with his as a secondary piece for us and not as the big ticket item of the offseason.
  12. I don’t want 200 million dollar Bellinger anyway. Too risky, in my opinion.
  13. Is there a general consensus on what a Montgomery contract would look like? I’ve heard so little about him this offseason.
  14. This is the guy I’d think they want to invest in. He’s young, hasn’t hit his prime yet and would look really solid in a rotation with Steele and Horton.
  15. Take them all!
  16. Im also more than happy to keep Morel. I think we need more offense and not less. Hopefully that very encouraging report that came out is more how the front office views him. But left me wondering if that was to try and drive his value up.
  17. I agree. Morel playing even a competent 3rd would be a big win for us. My fear is, with how often his name has been mentioned this off-season, he’s already been written off by the front office.
  18. Can we do both, while swapping them from dh to first base? Would ease Hoskins back onto the field and gives us a bat with some pop on each side of the plate. I could see Morel going in a multiplayer deal with Cleveland too, which opens up dh.
  19. Can we concede now that old Boob got one right and that’s why hoyer was testy?
  20. I’d imagine Glasnow and Hoskins get announced anytime now (should probably make a twitter account stating that so I can get meaningless followers) But still feel like we need something big here. I don’t want Chapman at all. But I’m getting really nervous we get desperate and sign him. Still holding out hope for Imanaga.
  21. I think we’re unlikely to outbid the New York teams on Yamamoto. As someone else mentioned, could also see the losing teams here get desperate for Bellinger. So this offseason just got tougher. The free agent market kinda plummets in quality a bit after the headliners. I really hope we can get a good trade none of us see coming.
  22. Right? Why would you want to even imply to a fan base that you (in part) ruined this acquisition? Once he takes a breathe he’s gonna wish he hadn’t tweeted that.
  23. Man, these two are huge losers. Linking them after today should result in a forum ban.
  24. Good. We don’t have to do this again. Ever.
