  1. So Imanaga is awesome. Really rooting for that guy. Seems cool as hell. I feel like that’s a common attribute of the Japanese players who come over, they seem less stuffy than most major leaguers and more willing to show their personality. And he’s got a great one to show, that’s for sure.
  2. Watched bits of his press conference, he’s awesome!
  3. I see what you did there 🤣
  4. https://twitter.com/juanctoribio/status/1745511029965250706
  5. Was really into Imanaga but man did his market fall apart. Now I’m just scared why he ended up with this deal. This is quite light compared to projections. Makes me very nervous.
  6. This approach sounds like a good way to back yourself into a corner and get stuck with the #4 guy on your list.
  7. Where did you go?
  8. Yeah, I agree. Just making a cheesy new years joke. But I still feel had you told me right after the Counsell signing we’d be sitting here without any additions by January I’d have been gobsmacked. Still ways to improve, of course, but my ideal offseason is long since gone.
  9. Maybe next year 🤣
  10. There’s just none as appealing as Mancini, Hosmer, and Barnhart this year.
  11. I feel like one of the teams that lost out on Yamamoto (giants maybe) are gonna overpay for Imanaga. With the way we want to avoid bidding wars of late I doubt we’re super involved here.
  12. I think I’d do that. To me, that seems light though. Never played with that tool yet. Damnit, I might today!
  13. I don’t see any scenario where Jed has the stones to grab Cease. But sign me up for many different scenarios that don’t include Horton or PCA. I really like Cease. Perhaps I’m overvaluing our own prospects too, but I’m not sure there’s anyone available that would make me deal Horton.
  14. Dodgers seem to be best at wanting a player and getting him right now. I feel like Theo seemed to have that trait as well. Jed? No.
  15. Meanwhile, the giants have had a couple tough offseasons huh? Can”t seem to quite finish off the mega deal.
  16. Wonder if the market really speeds up now, or if Christmas slows it a little longer.
  17. I can’t help but fantasize the cubs had the dodgers offseason. Very hard not to be jealous of them right now.
  18. Probably best we don’t wish the dodgers to fail. If they do, dumb and dumber will just use that as an excuse to never spend again.
  19. Good for them. They have good ownership and a front office not petrified of their own shadows. Legit contemplating being a fan of them.
  20. …it was you, wasn’t it?!
  21. There was some talk online that it just wasn’t a very popular part of the convention. But it does concern me a bit. I assume had we signed Ohtani for instance the panel would have been a go.
  22. Yeah, I’m not expecting it either. I don’t see Snell or Imanaga at all as there was some noise that the latter is exceeding early market estimations. I’d personally like to see the cubs just go crazy on pitching acquisitions this offseason. I’ve come around a little bit on Bieber, and I’d love to go get Hader as well. Since we’re built a bit more on the defensive side of the ball, I think if we made a really good pitching staff it serves the purpose of contending in the short term, while also letting the position player prospects develop another year.
