  1. Makes me feel less crazy seeing this.
  2. So Chapman or Bellinger and that’s a wrap for the offseason?
  3. No, I don’t think he should give in. And again, easy for me to say from my couch, but I wouldn’t have even been targeting who’s left on the free agent market. Chapman and Bellinger come with an amount of risk I don’t really want a part of. But here we are. With pretty much no better options.
  4. Sorry. What I meant was most people’s impression seems to be his remaining acquisitions will be Boras clients. And that Jed is playing this elaborate game of chicken with Scott Boras. Which, in my opinion, is an awful way to try and finish off your offseason.
  5. I prefer he doesn’t back himself into a corner where he’s down to Boras clients only. He needs to be proactive in trades, and needed to do a better job knocking items off his wishlist before he’s down to options 3 & 4.
  6. Yes sir. There’s still a path to a decent offseason. But this is why I don’t love the approach of waiting and waiting by Jed. Eventually, you’ll run out of options that actually move the needle. I don’t know. I think Tom and Jed are just a very awful combination.
  7. I like the honestly in your responses. I feel as frustrated as you right now. So know you’re not alone. Seems like we could have had just a passable offseason and been in front of the rest of the division. This offseason (thus far) is somewhere under my lowest expectations.
  8. Wasn’t the thought from scouts that Shaw might not have the arm for 3rd base? That mixed with not knowing which (if any) position Busch can adapt to and the assumption that Morel is only capable of being a dh just leaves me a little worried about the roster flexibility. Which sucks, cause those three bats would be nice to have on the same roster.
  9. Yeah, I’m not big on Belli or Chapman. I don’t think they make long term sense for us. I think as much as I hate to say it, Chapman probably makes more sense at this point. One thing that concerns me is Im struggling to see how we fit Busch, Morel, and Shaw on this roster.
  10. So Imanaga is awesome. Really rooting for that guy. Seems cool as hell. I feel like that’s a common attribute of the Japanese players who come over, they seem less stuffy than most major leaguers and more willing to show their personality. And he’s got a great one to show, that’s for sure.
  11. Watched bits of his press conference, he’s awesome!
  12. I see what you did there 🤣
  13. https://twitter.com/juanctoribio/status/1745511029965250706
  14. Was really into Imanaga but man did his market fall apart. Now I’m just scared why he ended up with this deal. This is quite light compared to projections. Makes me very nervous.
  15. This approach sounds like a good way to back yourself into a corner and get stuck with the #4 guy on your list.
  16. Where did you go?
  17. Yeah, I agree. Just making a cheesy new years joke. But I still feel had you told me right after the Counsell signing we’d be sitting here without any additions by January I’d have been gobsmacked. Still ways to improve, of course, but my ideal offseason is long since gone.
  18. Maybe next year 🤣
  19. There’s just none as appealing as Mancini, Hosmer, and Barnhart this year.
  20. I feel like one of the teams that lost out on Yamamoto (giants maybe) are gonna overpay for Imanaga. With the way we want to avoid bidding wars of late I doubt we’re super involved here.
  21. I think I’d do that. To me, that seems light though. Never played with that tool yet. Damnit, I might today!
  22. I don’t see any scenario where Jed has the stones to grab Cease. But sign me up for many different scenarios that don’t include Horton or PCA. I really like Cease. Perhaps I’m overvaluing our own prospects too, but I’m not sure there’s anyone available that would make me deal Horton.
  23. Dodgers seem to be best at wanting a player and getting him right now. I feel like Theo seemed to have that trait as well. Jed? No.
  24. Meanwhile, the giants have had a couple tough offseasons huh? Can”t seem to quite finish off the mega deal.
