  1. I see Cubs Twitter wanting Tanner Scott. I’m guessing it’s based solely off a quick glance at his ERA and nothing else. But he’s walking 9 per 9 innings and has a 5.90 xFIP. He’s still very intriguing though. He was excellent last year. His strikeouts are way down and walks are way up in 13 innings so far this year though. I’m not sure if it’s mechanical or just too small of a sample size to get an accurate reading on him. Other than him, there’s not much there really in terms of bullpen help.
  2. This team is injured to hell and held together by duct tape at the moment, just keep on keeping on scratching and clawing out victories until we get our dudes back. I don’t even care if they are ugly wins. Just keep fighting until we get healthy in another month or so. This is a fun team and a tough team. To be 15-9 with all the adversity is quite the accomplishment in this young season.
  3. I wish we could make a move for somebody like Jason Foley at Detroit or Hunter Harvey at Washington. Those are a couple good relievers on teams going nowhere. If we aren’t going to give Mervis a real opportunity, then we should move him for bullpen help.
  4. You just can’t run him out there anymore. I’m sorry, but you can’t. He needs to figure his **** out somewhere else. He’s batting practice right now
  5. I didn’t want to keep Hendricks this year. I’m thankful for the World Series and his part in it, but I’d be 100% perfectly fine if I never watched Kyle throw another pitch in a Cubs uniform again. He just doesn’t have it anymore. We are almost conceding the game when he starts and that’s unacceptable.
  6. Counsell wasn’t bs’ing about that 75 pitch count for brown lol. My guy was one out away from his first big league win
  7. Brown is still a work in progress and you can see it with his breaking balls, but man there’s a lot of promise in that arm.
  8. Anybody else wake up in a bad mood this morning? Trying to tell myself it’s just 1 game of a long season, but damn letting a 8-0 lead slip away is infuriating. Especially considering the rest of the pitching matchups the rest of this series.
  9. To be fair, there’s not much he can’t do on a baseball field. It’s easier to just assume he can do literally anything lol
  10. Busch has looked awesome. I guess in this hypothetical Busch would move to 3rd, Morel primarily DH, and Naylor at 1B.
  11. That’s what I was hoping to hear. I’ll be interested to see how he looks. I know he’s a guy they were excited to get into the lab. I was just hoping he was actually progressing well from the surgery.
  12. These things tend to work themselves out some how, some way. Trades will happen also. We are in a prime position to make a big move or 2 in the near future. It’s an excellent problem to have.
  13. Is there any update on how Jaxon Wiggins is progressing from TJ? He should be around 14 months removed from surgery now.
  14. Wow a guy with 1 HR last year ties the game with a PH HR. Baseball…
  15. That was a foul lol. I’ll take it though
  16. Lol we posted about Hagen at the same time.
  17. Hagen Smith LHP from Arkansas struck out 17 in 6 innings against Oregon St tonight. FB touched 99 with a wicked slider and decent changeup. He won’t make it to us, but I’m a baseball junkie and I love the draft. I would bet Chase Burns goes 1:1. The stuff is there and Wake Forrest has the most advanced pitch lab in college baseball. I’m currently a big Braden Montgomery fan for the Cubs pick. I love the bat and he won’t pitch at the next level, but his fastball is nearing triple digits. That will absolutely play from RF. Excited to see him in the SEC this year.
  18. That seems like a steep horsefeathers price for a guy that can’t play defense and isn’t even proven with the bat at the big league level yet.
