    I thought the Cubs were getting a guy who kept a tight clubhouse in Lou Piniella. He really has softened in the last couple years. I don't think he has the energy or will to keep a tight ship anymore. I just can't believe he let Ramirez bring a gun to the clubhouse. That has to be illegal. if aramis hits a game winning home run and then pretends to shoot all of his teammates when he gets to home plate, he will be my favorite player of all time

    we're not having a very good season if people are so excited about the prospects of chad tracy playing third base on a regular basis. not that it's unjustified, though. we need the opposite of FREE HEE SEOP or whatever right now. ENCLOSE ARAMIS

    If the Big 12 collapses, where the hell does KU end up? Independent? Death Penalty YES (this got stuck on the bottom of the page and was awesome so i had to move it up)

    why? so you can see him on tv everyday? would you be equally content if there was a reality show about him or something? i don't understand why anyone would want someone they liked to manage the cubs if they thought they'd do a bad job (unless it was your dad or something and he could hook you up with tickets or tell you secrets about the players or whatever).

    just tell the jerk that kc is basically no further away from chicago than des moines and that he can choose which of those two cities he'd prefer to play in, because those are the only options.

    what's great about this whole thing is that this would be the worst argument in the world if it didn't actually happen. "oh yeah, but what if a pitcher has two outs in the 9th inning of a perfect game and an umpire blows a call at first? i'll bet you'd want replay them." "you are an idiot."

    Looks like Brian McCann is starting today on a day after a night game. Im pretty sure Lou has never allowed Soto to start on a day game after a night game. sometimes there are good reasons for why people aren't allowed to do things

    basically what he's trying to say here is that aramis has all the talent in the world, but until he lurns to hustle and be a team player like mcgeyhee he's just not going to get it together

    if you're set on trading him (and i don't think you ought to be), i'd much rather just look for prospects in return instead of more stupid relief pitchers.

    That is the reason why it makes perfect sense for Ricketts to take his time on this decision, not a reason why not to fire Hendry though. it's also a reason to start the search sooner rather than later. the sooner we have a new gm, the sooner we can get rid of him or her if things don't work out.
