    what? Is this somehow true? If so I like Bengie more now. The idea of somebody playing for the sole purpose of blocking a prospect is just terrific. I still prefer Billy Koch refusing to sign with another team for the sole purpose of preventing the Blue Jays from saving a couple hundred thousand on his contract. Also, he went to the games and rooted against them. wait, did this really happen? that's amazing.

    Cycling is quite exciting, actually, and has an almost religious following around here. Not many annual events can turn out between half a million and a million people on the streets like the Ronde van Vlaanderen. i'll never understand those third world countries the belgish language has over 100 words for bicycle

    erik makes a good point, if hanley wants to be a jerk, there a lots of players itching to get through the door and play everyday. granted, those players will probably contribute similar defense and 1/8 the offense of hanley, and therefore lose games that the marlins should've won, but it'll be awesome to stick it to hanley the olde tyme way.

    To be a real number 1 in a 30 team league, why must you be top 10? Because equating the #1 pitcher across all 30 teams is idiotic number 1 starter is a moronic term to begin with, but to use it and then say that there aren't actually enough out there for every team to theoretically have one is even worse.

    i would've guessed that the pirates' world series would've been one of those times when they went to and/or won the world series and it wasn't 65 or 100 years ago.

    i would go to any game the cubs were trailing in at any point this season so i could scream GAME OVER at the players and everyone would know i was right

    the theory that z is hurt and the cubs know it and are trying to get what they can from him this season is gaining strength. given the contract, however, that had better not be the case. EDITED because i'm a moron
