  1. dave cameron is leaving fangraphs to go work for the padres. i’ve always thought he was pretty terrible. i guess you just automatically qualify for these jobs if you work for fangraphs or bp long enough.
  2. ahem please pay me royalties
  3. Well, I'll certainly be happy if G. Cole leaves our division and goes to the AL. I do feel bad for Pirates' fans though. They had a good run and now it's all falling apart slowly... I Pirates had an open window to compete and they basically signed AJ Burnett as their boldest move. Pirates fans should demand new ownership. turns out their superpower is a lack of money more like the got no bucs cubs are lois loan
  4. If you guys are into it I can probably make a really good post in between each of their posts. no
  5. i am generally terrified of arrieta going forward and am not really interested in him at any amount he might possibly accept.
  6. great now the site’s going to get shut down when the feds find out it exists only thanks to the largesse of weed barons and their ill-gotten riches
  7. i am sure he will love playing in the rural timber that is the city of denver why are you even talking about
  8. we definitely need some more twists and turns for the mspaint. I CAN ONLY DRAW SO MANY PICTURES OF THIS BARSTOOL IDIOT
  9. I really like the idea of Darvish’s doctor being there for the physical. “Elbow? Yeah I actually checked that this morning, looks real good, no reason to check again.”
  10. that’s like saying message boards are awful just because you post here
  11. damn this was a perfect gif for this lmao i could not believe i was smashing the heart for a bombadil post but he nailed it
  12. If you read the piece you'll see why. That title really doesn't mesh with the article I read it and just don’t agree. I think they’d get solid prospects for all their logical guys to trade. I think he undersells some of the value of them along with money owed/needed to be paid. They’d get a Sale type trade for Bumgarner, they’d get top 25-50 MLB prospects for all of Crawford, Belt, Samardzija and Cueto and wouldn’t have to pay much of the salaries outside of Cueto. Posey would bring back a good haul too but I could see keeping him as franchise icon. Trading those guys + the bottoming out due to having a bad roster and adding high picks for a few years and doing Feldman/Hammel type 1 year and flip deals would have them with a top system very fast. did you see what the marlins got for Stanton? teams aren’t paying top prospects for names when those names have fair (or overpriced) contracts attached.
  13. 4. Bryant/Rizzo/Schwarber, then one of Baez/Contreras/Russell/Happ depending on playing time/improvement/remaining on the team.
  14. forgetting about them could be considered An Honest Mistake something something does he rock his iroc z? i was going to heart this but there’s ego in my way
  15. Star Wars
  16. david wtf
  17. I’ve seen a bunch of people on Twitter (including Brett) saying “ohhh, this explains why he was in such a rush to come over.” Is there a reasonable way to connect the dots there that I’m missing? Even if he somehow thought he had one pitch left before his elbow snaps, wouldn’t that just make it easier to wait until he hit free agency in a couple years? He’d still blow that 2 million dollar bonus out of the water. Is there some incredible gap in elbow/tjs treatment/recovery between the two countries?
  18. what do you think you are contributing here
  19. Hendricks also lives in the LA area, so it might have just been a proximity thing. Hendricks is in Chicago this winter, he works out at my gym. He's actually a really nice guy. take a picture of him in the locker room if you want me to believe you
  20. the angels will be great fun with him and trout. i wanted him on the cubs, but no money and no dh and no pacific ocean all but ruled that out. this will make baseball more fun and will impact that cubs as indirectly as possible, so i like this outcome a lot.
  21. Why would they need more money then? he told them he might as well get maxed out if he’s going to sign there and they are in no position to say no.
  22. [tweet] [/tweet]
  23. even if he doesn’t really care about money, it never especially made sense that he’d take ten percent of what he could get elsewhere today. these trades feel like the final confirmation that we never had a shot.
  24. this is the second post i've ever given the <3 to on this board. Derwood would have to add this: Age 47: get a puppy Age 55: house train puppy this is the third. did you see my post about the seal the other day
  25. maybe jake will come back for cheap if we bump up tommy la stella’s salary it’s a seal at twice the price
