  1. can't get down on yourselves when the refs wipe away a td on egregiously bad call. but i never thought illinois was that good anyway, nor do i think that scheelhaase is that good, either.
  2. Still doesn't explain Zook's awful Big Ten record. it's not about big ten record or illinois' record at all, i figure you'd have grasped the point by now.
  3. making your kid a cub fan is like giving him aids
  4. there is no way that i'm getting my hopes up at all. id just like to see a nice bowl game.
  5. pretty much case closed on the NU/UI argument. i think it's going to be a really tough game, really tough. if we win i will be ecstatic.
  6. Exactly, if you're not an ND fan, you aren't watching this game. So why play it every year. And you meant 'is' you big meanie. good call. i thought about it after i posted it, damn.
  7. castro's value is at SS. so, not until he's old should we move him to third.
  8. Yes, and yet he didn't shut down a pick we know he absolutely hated. So, maybe by the word active the rumor meant possibly present and moving, but not in the mood to say no to what his scouts were saying about him. I've done the same with the A's system. I remember the Richie Robnetts, Danny Putnams, and Javier Herraras of the world too. Michael Choice...Ryan Flaherty? Michael Choice is a CF possibly RF who projects to hit in the .240-.260 range, walk, and hit with power. Ryan Flaherty? He's also 4 years younger than Flaherty...Grant Green just won the MVP of the Futures Game this year...a lame award I know, but check out the alumni...guys like David Wright and Alfonso Soriano....Tyson Ross has been pretty good and might have good upside as a reliever...we're not talking a dead system here. We're talking about a system that just 10, 12 years ago was one of the most productive in the game, under the very same GM who was and is considered amongst the game's elite GMs. I have alot of trouble believing that this is anything more than a phase for their farm. They have the pitching, it's the bats that need to come around. Personally, I like Brandon Allen and I've always been a Chris Carter fan, so there's a chance bat talent will be coming through soon to go with Weeks. a couple of weeks agao you were asking what prospects beane's system had produced in the last 10 years. make up your mind.
  9. Huh? All you can do in professional sports is compare results with the other teams in the league. Epstein's results have been better than just about anybody else. When Cutler's overall mediocre play gets criticized, a lot of Bears fans use the refrain that he's far better than the carousel of [expletive] we've had for years to excuse it. He should be compared to the rest of the league, not our crappy history of QBs. He's been middle of the pack, at best. That's not to say that there aren't idiots who are equally overly critical of him. The bold is only a reiteration of what I already said (and what you replied to), so I don't know what you're trying to tell me. then there are those that fail to account for his line play.
  10. yeah, i'm not surprised. wouldn't shock me to see him at illinois, but i'd rather get jabari and big ham.
  11. i'm with you when it comes to beane being my favorite. for one, it would absolutely kill steve stone to see beane, a guy who beat him out for the a's GM job, get the cubs job, a job stone no doubt covets more than any in the known world.
  12. apparently, from what I've heard, Walter was less than courteous to Chamillionaire, as well.
  13. good managers don't make a difference, bad managers ruin seasons.
  14. for the record, neither purdue nor notre dame are very interesting.
  15. if beane gets the job he'll likely hire a broken down, old failure. someone who's got no dignity left, a broken man with no dreams or illusions of being even a respected name. someone who will do whatever he's told so that he can eat that day. and that's who i want.
  16. it's ok that cindy cheated on him because sandberg likes asian cross-dressers. also, dawson was a little kid lover, which is why he didn't get along with grace because grace was gay and in love with him.
  17. I always really liked Martinez. No idea what type of coach he is, but I don't think that's a horrible idea. It would be funny to see the Ryno sycophants go nuts after a different ex-cub gets the gig. One that loves blondes in corn cob dresses. damnit, you beat me to it.
  18. didn't dave martinez, like rafael palmeiro, get traded for banging cindy sandberg? lol, that would be an amazing hire.
  19. except our quarterback tore a knee ligament in the first half of the championship game.
  20. first of all, the missed PI on woodson when he fell into hester like an oaf was pretty impactful. because it wasn't called, the bears punted and gave the packers great field position, which they used to score a TD. the punt return was just another bad call by the refs. I know, I admitted that in an earlier post. That's why I'm surprised there wasn't more complaining about that one. Fact, is I'd be more upset about that one then the punt return. The punt return was just a cooler play and the last one. I'm really not trying to be an A-hole (ok, I probably was a-holeish on in a post or two). I've had discussions/arguements with fans of my team on other boards regarding stuff like this as well. There is a lot of time until next Sunday and I like posting about the game that took place. Fact is I enjoy posting on this site more than other ones. the problem is, a call like that probably sabotaged our season, and i've seen the packers get the benefit of every call and every break for about what, 10 weeks in a row? it's frustrating to watch things like this continue to happen for a team that i'm not fond of. the packers are the better team, i'm not saying the bears are better by any stretch, but their run of luck has been nothing short of astonishing.

  22. i want these refs fired, all them, this was an embarrassment for the league. these refs are jokes, [expletive] jokes that will suck dick in hell.
  23. where is the [expletive] hold?
