  1. Maybe your misreading or I wasn't clear in my post. Im not saying sit Turner the rest of season versus lefties and just play Busch, though I personally wouldn't care if they did . Im saying going forward that CC needs to or should start playing Busch more or as much as possible now against lefties because when they start playing those meaningful games against opponents like Cardinals, Brewers, other potential playoff teams ( and in playoffs) they need to beat and theres a lefty on the mound, i think it would be best to have their main guy starting at first then Justin Turner. As far as it just 1B goes, we shouldn't diminish the importance of having a good glove at 1B.
  2. You really prefer Turner over Busch starting in a playoff series ? I dont know, I think I'd prefer having the glove first and take my chances with Busch's hitting.
  3. I think alot of that has to do with Happ who already doesn't hit as good from right side has been struggling overall sonce June, obviously Shaw not hitting, absence of Amaya hurts, and Kelly leveling off after a hot start. getting nothing from Turner when he plays against them doesn't help either. But yes after that hot start destroying everyone, they have leveled off hard against lefties.
  4. Great start, lead off triple and Tucker not trying to do too much and got him home . There's your lead Boyd now shutem down 😆
  5. I agree with Floyd in regards to Busch, Counsell needs to just let him play versus lefties going forward. Possible playoff teams going forward and teams they may face in postseason are gonna stack up lefties either in rotation or bullpen when facing the Cubs mainly because 4 of their top hitters are lefties. Happ from left side, Tucker, PCA, and Busch CC cant be going into these big games going forward and postseason not playing his best defensive first basemen and one of his better hitters because theyre facing a lefty, I mean damn, inagine Justin Turner starting 3 postseason series games cause a lefty starting or facing the Brewers in a big 3 game series for the division and starting Turner cause lefties are starting for the Brewers 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Busch need to get all the AB he can get against lefties now so hes ready to face them in bigger games...
  6. Shaw out day 2 and against a lefty🤔🤔 Happ finally moved down in order 🥳
  7. Fake team still in lineup today with Berti and Turner in...
  8. Hey Berti got a hit 🤷‍♂️ What super funny is, Cubs only had 5 hits and 3 came from the bench turds in Brujan, Berti, and Turner 😅😅
  9. What are odds Wicks ends up with some sort of "injury " and placed on IL tomorrow
  10. I'll be upset if Caissie, or Wiggins get moved and especially if theyre moved for someone that short-term.
  11. Only way they might consider bringing Caissie up this season is if one of the OFers go on IL, otherwise they won't bring him up just to sit on bench.
  12. Im sure Hoyer gonna do his best to use Wicks and or Brown in any trade package to try and avoid using Wiggins for teams wanting young pitching in return.
  13. When the baseball gods fuks with fans.. Cubs have 3 hits and Turner and Berti has 2 of them 😅😅
  14. Had a feeling I'd be checking out the summer league bulls game earlier then I wanted to, now I'll be bored of it before halftime and have nothing to watch
  15. Don't hate them, as a fan im rooting hard for them to do well, but damn you cant just sit here and say they'll be fine after a month plus of not being fine.
  16. Be nice to figure out a way to win tonight game, then with Boyd and Imanaga the next 2 days they'll have a pretty good opportunity to get at least 1 more win and take the series. Sunday pitching matchup heavily favors the Cubs with Imanaga.
  17. The what if he is bad part is why you put Turner on the IL (if he accepts of course). As someone said above , if he going to get an opportunity, now would be the time before the deadline to see what he can do. As far as positions goes, he has played in his time in the minors... 1B 1200 innings 3B 294 innings LF 162 innings So, yea 1B is his position but he can fill in a game or two at 3B and LF if needed.
  18. True, but that lineup has a few more legit guys that can hurt them then the Mariners have. I'd love to get two, I guess I'll be happy to avoid a sweep and get one if it comes to that.
  19. Sorry, I just saw your post now to me. As far as sending him down during the break, that more of a I wouldn't be surprised if Hoyer did that move. Bringing someone up is more because If he does that, then they'll need someone to replace him now. That all my post was intended to be until someone mentioned about me being management, I should of just ignored instead of asking why and it would of avoided tearing up this game thread with that discussion. My bad IMO, Hoyer has two choices to make in regards to 3B and one isnt just leaving Shaw be and let him play it out there everyday and hope he starts hitting. I IMO just dont think that will do him any good now and just prolong his struggles. I agree the answer to 3B isnt in Iowa, as i said above that was just a temporary move only IF Hoyer decided to make a move during the break and send him down. You and I discussed before, the likelihood of adding a stud 3Bmen like Suarez is very low, but what would be good is getting a guy who can platoon with him at 3B and take some pressure off of him.
