  1. Dodgers and Yankees swim in the Ocean while everyone else chooses lakes and ponds, been this way forever
  2. Dodgers already have 12 guys under contract for 2027 worth over 275 mil 😅😅
  3. I think It a little better, but maybe a bit on the older side. I think pitching is and should be Hoyer main focus for this offseason, I would love to see him add a solid SP to help solidify a rotation going forward after this season with Steele and Horton. I also think theyll add a bat or two, just dont think itll be someone big, but like you said someone in the tiers below like Bohm.
  4. But Heyman said yesterday the Cubs were interested.. lol Good for Schwarbs being able to stay in Philly.
  5. If they're bringing in a 30 mil dollar bat, wouldn't that be because they're looking to make a playoff push and wouldn't Nico be a big part of that push for them? Especially since his replacement would be Shaw who is still questionable with the bat, which could turn 2B into a revolving door of players. I dont know, I just have a feeling we're not going to see any real major additions this offseason, especially with position players, maybe a SP if they do add someone of significant, but i think they're going to ride out 2026 with the position players they have and the ready prospects like Mo and Caissie and wait til next off season when they'll have more money from the expiring contracts and a new CBA to work off of and potentially a better group of FA to go after.
  6. Hmmmm 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
  7. Right, Cubs offseason needs are big bat, bullpen, SP... So just go with top 2-3 guys at all needs and say cubs are interested in them... lol
  8. Im not saying they definitely are assuming, I was just responding to a post.. But, how do you know for sure they are absolutely looking for a 3Bmen? You only know what these writers are saying that they could be interested in those 3 names and they could be saying that because one of the Cubs needs is a big bat to replace Tucker, and where is the most probable spot to fill that need of all the positions? 3B, so it easy to just assume the Cubs could be interested in Bregman Suarez and Murakami. Heyman just threw out there today that the Cubs could be interested in Schwarber 🙄
  9. Have you heard any rumors about them adding an outfielder ? No just 3B
  10. We have heard many of times about how Cubs have had interest in someone and then find out later they never spoke. Im not saying it happens all the time or even now with these 3Bmen, I mean I can see them renewing interest in Bregman again, but i was just responding to your post with that it could just be an assumption with these rumors now that they could be interested in them.
  11. Most rumors are assumptions, you just look at a team need or where they can upgrade at and the players available to fill the void and just write that Team A has interest or may have interest in such player and it becomes a rumor.. Bregman, Suarez, and now Murakami are the biggest name available 3BMEN on the market, and 3B is where they can upgrade with a big bat if they choose to, so it easy to just assume the Cubs would have interest in those 3.
  12. They have Suzuki and Caissie for RF, so just saying it would be an easier assumption for them to feel they would replace Shaw bat at 3B with an upgrade over adding another RFer. We haven't heard any rumors from them with the Cubs interest in any OFers, unless i missed them
  13. I think it just a big assumption by these writers that if they do add a big bat the most likely spot would be 3B because RF can be filled by either Suzuki and/or Caissie.
  14. Winter Meetings... 4 days of GMs and Agents getting drunk at the bar, and baseball writers trying to scoop up rumors to write about. 😅😅😅
  15. I was talking more like Caissie, Mo, Shaw being traded away, I know i put etc but I was just thinking along the line of prospects that are capable of being starters in the next 2-3 seasons. Guys like Alcantara and Long are basically depth bench guys, they likely wont be bringing in much in a trade, especially a starting position player. I dont see the Cubs adding Bregman, the guy walked away from 83+ mil the next 2 years in order to add years, im sure he looking to get a minimum of 7 years and likely close to 35 per., they might as well offer Tucker that if they're willing to go over 30 on one player.
  16. I'd actually be surprise if they trade any of their ready/near ready prospects like Mo, Caissie etc. Or even Shaw, especially without signing any hitters long term this offseason. With Happ, Hoerner, Suzuki, and Kelly all likely entering FA next offseason and going elsewhere, theyre going to need some home grown guys to fill needs over spending everything on FA for 5 positions that could be open. ( C, 2B, LF, RF, DH)
  17. The hope was to extend Tucker and then sign a TOR SP to give them that guy on both ends, but now it's almost like last offseason where the thinking is that they might just look to add one big name player again and hope he can get them back into the playoffs. Likely why Bregman name keeps popping up
  18. With meeting starting Sunday, I took a look at current roster and what exactly are their needs or openings as of now. On paper, they really don't need much as they have capable players to fill in the holes if they choose to stay mostly in house, which is basically RF, 1 SP, bullpen, and bench. Starting Nine.... C Amaya 1B Busch 2B Hoerner SS Swanson 3B Shaw LF Happ CF PCA RF DH Suzuki They can go with Caissie in RF or Ballesteros as DH with Suzuki in RF if they feel either is ready to start OD. Bench... C. Kelly IF OF UT Kingery Could use a veteran LH bat, otherwise I can see them basically giving their AAA guys the opportunity here. Starting Pitchers... SP Imanaga SP Boyd SP Horton SP Taillon SP Rea Would love to see them get another top end SP and move Rea to the Pen, but i just have a feeling Hoyer is satisfied with having the top 4 guys here and eventually Steele. I think Hoyer will just add depth SP to compete with Rea and Assad for the 5th spot and keep them stashed in AAA and/or the pen til needed. Bullpen.... Rel Assad Rel Rel Rel Rel Rel Rel Maton Rel Palencia Would love to add a closer or veteran late inning guy to go with Palencia and Maton. Hodge Brown Little Roberts Wicks are going to be competing for spots, but hopefully Hoyer addresses and brings in better arms to fill in the openings here. I hope Hoyer makes some big moves this offseason, I think we might see one major addition and then nothing special to fill the rest of roster out. Tax Threshold is 244, Cubs projected to be around 195 after ARBS, if they hold around 15+ for inseason additions, that leaves them with approximately 30+ to spend.
  19. Hoyer annual trash bin signing of the over 30 depth guys that gets cut in March..lol
  20. I know it wont but that the kind of move they should be making
  21. Hoyer needs to go hard after Edwin Diaz
  22. Hoyer waiting on them 35+ yo that he can get them on 1-2 year deal for less than 2 mil. 😏😏😏
  23. A couple things... When you pluck a bunch of guys out of the dumpster you might get lucky once in a while that one or two could end up with a decent season, but the risk factor to that is likely a slow start out of your bullpen the first couple of months until those guys start figuring it out as a unit. Jed may get lucky to find the cream of the slop every now and than but at some point you'd like for him to sign or trade for proven pitcher(s) too and nit just hope to catch lightning in a bottle with reclamation guys.
  24. So a dumpster dive and hope it works out like usual....
