Damn, I was hoping with noone really stepping up to take the DH spot that they would get him or another available bat

I know ST numbers isn't something to be concerned about, but with a week to go only Gomes, Morel, and Suzuki are hitting well so far. Hopefully in the final few games left, the others get going and have some positive momentum heading into the season.

Cubs look to have OD lineup tonight outside of Hendricks on the mound. I hope Suzuki carries this hot hitting into the start of season, another double in first AB

Be nice if they can add another hitter for DH and SP like Montgomery, but we probably won't see any significant moves til the deadline as they hopefully look to upgrade the roster for a solid playoff run. The West as you said should be tough to beat in the postseason

Madrigal been in 6 games (Hamstring), none since March 4th and has 13 AB, with 11 days left I doubt he's in consideration to be on OD roster. Amaya(RH) Mastrobuoni (LH) Tauchman (LH) Cooper, Wisdom, Canario RH Smith, Peralta LH

I still feel Sammy being away from the team has more to do with Wood and maybe Sandberg request to Tom Ricketts to keep him away or they'll stay away.

I cracked up when he said people talk about him having a bad season but noone mentions the 9 very good starts he had when he went 7-2...lol 9 out of 23 isn't bad 😅

They sure are.. you think they're going to add another FA that plays 3B ? Morel is 100% the OD starter there and Mastrobuoni is 100% on the team over Madrigal.

Mastrobuoni will likely make it as a LH bat who can play 2B, SS, 3B, and OF of needed. Cooper RH bat who can backup 1st and DH Canario, Mervis, and Peralta are likely battling for final spot I do think they may end up making a couple of minor trades for minor league depth in lower levels. Wisdom, Bote and Madrigal could be moved

What a fast game, liking the Cubs 3 lefties in Steele, Imanaga, and Wicks, they can win alot of games with them 3 and the bats scoring at least 3 to 4 runs in their starts. Wonder which 2 lefty CC will slide Hendricks between, im gonna guess Imanaga and Wicks.

With the season 2 weeks away, is it fair to say that the Cubs are done adding any significant players to the main roster ? So, Bellinger(return) and Imanaga were the only significant signing and a trade for Busch. Seems like a pretty dull offseason for them, I like the pitching, hopefully it holds up.

I'm excited this season with the pitching overall, just not sure about the bats. I'm hoping they grab another good bat for DH.

I'm still holding out hope they can make a deal with Montgomery.

None on the other catchers are going to be used off the bench.. With the DH, teams need to make sure the other 4 guys can play multiple positions, good glove, and can possibly be used as a pinch runner. There's no room for just an end of bench 3rd catcher anymore

Be interesting to see if Cooper and D.Smith continue to have a good Spring if Jed will consider taking offers for Mervis and or Wisdom .

Cause there are meathead fans that if a young talnted player don't perform in their first 50 pro AB or in ST they have an over reaction response and peg them a bust. 🙄

I'm gonna guess they're giving him the long look with Wisdom hurt.. They likely have Cooper/Canairo/Wisdom competing for the RH DH spot and D.Smith and Mervis competing for the LH DH spot.

They can still play in games, but they now get more practice/work in with their minor league club over getting in what they can with the regulars getting the bulk of it.

Unless I missed him, haven't noticed Amaya playing much, did he get hurt?
