  1. Chapman suks.. If they add another starting bat, it going to be Bellinger. Cubs will likely go with Morel and Madrigal at 3B with an eye on Shaw for the second half of season.
  2. Tells us they're not pursuing anyone outside to play 3B, it Morel's spot to lose in ST and at least to start the season at. So basically 7 of the starting 8 is pretty much set, with CF the only question. Gomes, Busch, Hoerner, Swanson, Morel, Happ, Suzuki and Wisdom probably DH I can see why there's rumors about adding bullpen guys, they're gonna have crap for offense.
  3. Jed gonna snatch Chapman and Bellinger on short deals 😅
  4. Also Tomorrow teams can utilize the 60 day IL, which can open up 40 man roster spots. So, hopefully we start seeing some transactions soon.
  5. https://twitter.com/mlbtraderumors/status/1757299073843913036?t=bN231sVvgkTtHpGoV2EYsA&s=19
  6. Do what ? Have a feel that there's no way Hoyer is done trying to improve this roster and is just going to settle on a Pitcher from Japan and a top 50 rookie prospect to win ballgames this season. I dont cry, I'll just tell it like it is if that what he does and we're looking at possibly another wasted opportunity to win a division and go to the playoffs.
  7. For some reason I just have this huge feeling that Hoyer has a trade he cooking up right before Pitchers and Catchers report that will add a bat(3B) and a pitcher. Bellinger will be signed right before ST Monday or Tuesday should be pretty active for the cubs 🤞🤞🤞
  8. Process of elimition as far as team's needs and budget. You look for what teams has openings and are looking to add whomever of the 4 top players available and are willing or can fit the player's price range into their budget..
  9. Hoyer doesn't really seem to be the negotiating type, he basically has his max years and amount set and waits until the player comes down from their asking price. With Bellinger, I have to think it's more about the years, Bellinger is likely looking for a minimum of 7 yrs and Hoyer probably will only go to 5
  10. 7 days til pitchers and catchers report and still not 100% sure who will play 1B, 3B, CF, and DH. Right now it's projected to be Busch, Madrigal, Tauchman, and Morel. That not good you all
  11. I'd like for them to get a closer, this way they can move Alzolay to set up, but it likely theyre looking to add a needed LH for late inning relief
  12. Cubs sign Dick Lovelady, we need Harry for when he takes the mound 😅😅😅
  13. It would be a cub thing to do, they could offer him a 2 or 3 yr deal with mutual options.
  14. Just saw that Bellinger hasn't recieved any offers from any teams yet, this could set up a return to the cubs for a deal with early opt outs.
  15. They did something but it another non spectacular signing/trade that won't hurt them financially if he sucks. The overall roster still don't excite me enough to feel like they're going to be anymore then a 500 or a few pennies over team next season.
  16. I've never seen a team that has money to spend, positions to fill, and just sit back and do nothing to fill them. Does signing Bellinger dictate so much of who they add to the roster at other positions of need
  17. That seems to be Jeds approach to Free Agency with the top players from each position of his needs. Instead of being aggressive and getting the guys he wants, he waits for the last one standing to try and get him closer to what he willing to offer.
  18. He can end up being a good flip for them at the deadline
  19. Just over a month before ST and still no clear idea on who will play 1B, 3B, or CF for them. As of now, we're looking at Busch, Madrigal, and Tauchman as their starters with Wisdom, Mastrobuoni, and maybe Canairo on the bench.. ( all on projected depth chart) Holy struggling offense batman...
  20. Very interesting that Swanson is the voice for Bellinger to return to the Cubs. Hopefully both sides see this as a positive and Jed is willing and Bellinger is willing to meet half way and work out a deal that will satisfy both sides.
  21. I still have a feeling Morel will be traded
  22. Cease and the Sox just settled for 8 mil to avoid Arb, maybe Jed plan is to flip him to the Sox 🤷‍♂️😁
  23. They better hope he not still trying to figure it out in May. Then they gave up 2 young kids with future potentials for 2 guys that are very questionable.
  24. He didn't look ready in SSS 80 PA with the Dodgers, nothing wrong with starting him in AAA and working on what he was having trouble adjusting to.
