    That's all June though. Here are their monthly splits vs lefties April - 144 May - 100 June - 78 July - 114 Also doesn't it tell you something about the molehill you're making a mountain out of when you cherry pick a date range and the bottom line is still just "slightly below average"?

    Setting aside that I think it's silly to get worked up over small samples, they scored 3 runs in 6 innings *with the wind blowing in* against Andrew Heaney. If these are the sorts of games reinforcing your position I don't know what to tell you.

    Here's a useful exercise: Go look at the individual pitchers that make up that June playing time, and tell me if anything besides the fact that they're left handed stands out to you

    Interesting. My topline reaction would be that Rojas shouldn't be for sale so he shouldn't be part of these games, though I understand how irrational that is. It's also interesting because some teams (looking at you, Padres) have tried to game trade value the opposite way by getting everyone into a super favorable age relative to their league, so that even if they struggle you can say "but he's only 20".

    I'm curious to see if this shifts. I think it'd be pretty easy to imagine this was a Breslow thing that gets phased out under new leadership.

    So Jim Bowden is a moron, let's get that out of the way up front. But I do believe he's capable of reading his own text messages without incident. He polled the industry on which prospects are most likely to get moved at the deadline. And...wow.

    Yes! Although I'm curious about the roster move. Horton is the most obvious, but at the same time sending him down after last night's performance feels a little mean.
