  1. Yeah I don't care anymore... I'm buying his jersey.
  2. Oh, he was throwing 95 his last outing. I project God Mode Eddie arrives May 2017 when Brett Anderson dies on the mound. Fixed.
  3. I got probably 2 memorable games that I've been to. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200205220.shtml (Prior's debut) http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200606280.shtml (a game where I saw Marmol pitched awesome for 6 innings, Pierre's first HR of the season, Blanco somehow got a triple with Mabry PH double that led to Cubs scoring 5 in the 8th)
  4. In other words, classic Painter. I know it's the players who loses the game with the missed FTs, etc., but Purdue has choked way too many times in Painter's tenure where they shouldn't have (mainly in tournaments). Wouldn't shock me to see them being upset in the first round next week.
  5. I wonder how Pace views Demps. Will he play SS or FS?
  6. This is dumb and wrong. The idea that smart teams don't spend in free agency is dumb and wrong. You have to spend in free agency to compete. There is no such thing as a purely draft driven team. Cap space can and should be used to acquire the best players possible. Well of course no team is purely draft driven and we're obviously not now as it stands and never will be so I don't mean that... But I find paying decent players like they're the best at their position a little concerning. Gilmore was good one year and average the next. No idea what you're gonna get. And how do we possibly beat the Pats in any race like that... I thought we were a longshot as it was. Not surprised Pace couldnt land him. So we move on to Bouye, who is a good cover guy but doesn't make many plays on the ball. He really doesn't move the needle much for us IMO. But I like the second wave of FA and Pace has shown he does as well. There's still plenty of time to upgrade the team without handing out huge contracts to questionable players. You do realize how bad the CBs were last season right? You go from that to Bouye. It's not lIke a downgrade or lateral move here. That move the needle quite a bit. Yes it sucks that he doesn't get a bunch of takeaways, but he's still very valuable with his coverage. You're either making the QB throw in a bad/tight spot or have him hold the ball a sec or 2 because he's gotta look elsewhere which might be enough time for the front 7 to get to him. Now granted, there's CBs out there that can still improve this team and maybe Pace decided to go with the quantity route this year to build up the team overall and have more depth. I can def get behind that, but I think they could get a couple high impact players AND go with the quantity route with the cap space they have (now and future).
  7. So Bears sign Glennon, Wheaton, Sims, and Demps so far? Am I missing anyone else?
  8. My guess is he's asking for the richest contract for a CB. Not sure if you want to go that high.
  9. Fournette is one popular trade up theory I've seen. One of the QBs could be another posibility. I saw an interesting trade thrown out by someone, although its probably not something most on here would like.....Pick 3 for pick 10, Tyrod Taylor, the Bills 2nd and 6th, and their 3rd next year..... I guess Buffalo supposedly likes Trubisky. At 10, there'd be a QB sitting there, or any number of defensive options.(maybe even Allen falls that far). And if you need to, you can package your 2nd, with Buffalo's, to move back into the 1st, if you feel the need to get one of these QB's..... LOL at that trade scenario. Bills can't be that stupid. If that is somehow offered, I hope Pace takes it. With Taylor actually being a QB that you can feel comfortable with and is under contract for 5 more years iirc, you can really get creative and build up your starter/depth talent with 6 picks in the top ~110 and have a future 3rd on top of that. I'm not even sure I would pick a QB if it went this way. If someone drop to them in the 2nd or 3rd and he's BPA, then sure, pick the guy, but I wouldn't trade up to get a QB. Just Taylor alone should bring back a ton imo.
  10. Because generally, the faster they run in a straight line with no pads, the faster they play. and the NFL is littered with All-Pro's with crappy combine numbers. Richard Sherman for example. 40 time for CBs does make some sense (compared to like OL/DL which is just useless for those guys except for the 10 yd split) as they will run a straight line a lot and the other thing is to see if the game tape matches up with that 40 time (maybe you had questions whether that CB lack the top end speed to keep up).
  11. I rather have Hoyer for like 1yr/5-6 mil than whatever Glennon is going to get.
  12. Haven't done this in a couple years so I'm in. Whatever team you need me to take is fine (I think I had Patriots when I did this in the past).
  13. Damn... does Chiefs still have cap space to tag Poe? I feel like they're gonna have to let someone go that they don't want to in order to keep Berry and Poe.
  14. It feels like this thread should be titled "Top 108 Javier Baez moments for the 2016 Cubs". He got a horsefeathers ton of them so far and I LOVE it!!! It's mind boggling that we haven't hit the top 40 and half of the moments that we had so far would be top 5-10 moments for majority of the other teams in the league.
  15. Well there were certainly extenuating circumstances about not using them there or much in the playoffs, I think if one or both were 100% at the time both would have come in ahead of Edwards and possibly Monty. If one or both were 100%, Chapman wouldn't have pitched like 12 innings in the WS.
  16. I would love that, but is there any chance of anyone hitting that? Don't you have to hit 510+ ft to hit it at the bottom? When the last time someone hit a 500+ ft in a game (HR derby don't count)?
  17. So they were probably asking for Brown and some combination of Smart, Bradley and Crowder? Take this with a grain of salt. I talked to my buddy who lives in Boston earlier about this. He has a friend in the Celtics organization (I have no clue what position exactly, but he told me that he's in the marketing dept) and supposedly the friend heard it was Crowder, 1 of Brown/Smart, 1 of Amir Johnson/Zeller (expiring contract), and '18 Nets pick was the asking price. Not sure if it was just for Butler or Bulls had to send something back to make the $$$ match up.
  18. Rizzo's got some nice gams, and his hair looks MUCH better there than the previous N'Sync-era Timberlake look he was seemingly rocking before. Bryant needs to make some fat stacks off of a Proactiv endorsement, stat.
  19. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/hey-everyone-just-so-you-know-kyrie-irving-believes-the-earth-is-flat-222937229.html
  20. Honestly, this reminds me of the late 90s/2000s Twolves when they had prime Garnett.
  21. I'm surprised he wasn't banned before that night. Him and Dolan HATE each other.
  22. That's only happening if Zobrist gets hurt. Baez will be getting 40-50 starts at SS/3B (Russell will get his rest and Bryant can move to 1B/LF/RF) plus a couple at 1B/OF. If you give him 100 starts at 2B then he's at ~150 starts unless you think he's barely going to get any starts at SS/3B. Then we're talking about him getting like 600+ PAs.
  23. Javy started 97 games last year. 2 @ 1B, 21 @ SS, 36 @ 3B, and 38 @ 2B. I can see him get about the same at 1B and SS. He'll probably get around 20-30 at 3B and then most likely around 50 at 2B. I wouldn't be surprised to see a start or 2 in the OF somewhere. That still puts him around 100 starts again. The only way I see him getting more starts is if one of starting IF is out for an extended time or he takes a step forward against RHP and/or plate discipline.
  24. You're more plugged in about Arkansas than I am (as far as basketball goes), is Anderson on the hot seat now? I agree with you that he needs to go, but I haven't heard anything from my friends/family (they're all more into football/baseball) down there so just curious if you heard anything.
  25. Yep. The only huge deal I know of that wasn't top 2 was Falcons getting Julio Jones. They went up 21 picks to #6 and traded their 1st, 2nd, and 4th that year plus 1st and 4th the following year.
