  1. Is one of these guys gonna be worth that investment? Watson certainly won't be. Maybe Kizer? But I'd rather get the best player, especially when you've got a chance at a Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen or Jabrill Peppers. This. If they get a top 3 pick, then they have a chance of getting one of Garrett, Allen, or Kizer. Now a lot can change leading up to the draft and someone else jump up there (maybe ND LT if he decides not to return, for example?). I also like the idea of trading down to get more picks as they will have quite a few needs and to get more depth, but I have a hard time accepting an offer when one of the 3 I mentioned above will be available.
  2. WTF was he thinking?
  3. Can we hire a HC that can actually make adjustments in the 2nd half?
  4. I have no problem offering him Zobrist type money. 4/56-60 I wonder if he would take that to stay with the Cubs.
  5. oh my god please ask him. Cubbiebum's name is Levin Black FYI. What? Levin Black? I've heard of that name before from my Lafayette friends. That surely can't be the same Levin Black.
  6. Hahaha holy horsefeathers!!! I'm going to ask my buddy Brian if he remembers a guy like CubbieBum. He worked at Windermere at that time. That thread is amazing.
  7. I want to get a jersey, but who the hell do I get? I still can't decide on who. They're all amazing.
  8. Hahahahhahahahahahahahaha. So I bet a friend of mine who is a huge Indians fan for a bottle of liquor ($50 or less) on whoever would win this series before game 1 and he already said he won't get me anything because he "didn't" agree to it even though 2 of our friends were there and videotaped of the whole deal.
  9. I don't know where else to put this, but my great grandpa is smiling somewhere. He started the Cubs fandom. He was born in 1893 and passed away in 2001. I barely knew him cuz I was like 16 when he passed away, but my grandpa is a huge influence on me being a Cubs fan which only happened cuz his dad was one. My grandpa came to my door tonight asking if I can take the day off tomorrow (I work with my dad and he told me I have the rest of the week off) and we watched the game together. IN the past hour after the game was over, my grandpa was telling me stories about my great grandpa who got to see amazing players lIke Christy Mathewson and Oscar Charleston. I asked my grandpa on what his dad would say right now on the last out and he said... "oh horsefeathers". So Fred and Howie (great grandpa)... this one for you.
  10. Hey umm... Is it weird that I got instant boner as soon he hit it?
  11. I was at Killroys in Indianapolis last night with some friends watching. Still can't believe it. The place was packed with Cubs fans and went nuts after the double play. After it happened, I got a call from my grandpa. All he said was "We did it. We horsefeathers did it!" and just started crying. That's the first time I've ever heard him cuss. Needless to say, I cried with him. He'll be 78 tomorrow and he finally will get to see his team in the WS. Then came home this morning and found out that my grandma let him have one beer last night. First alcohol drink he had in 41 years. It's amazing what a team can do to someone.
  12. Can A Rod take over Smoltz on Sat for Game 6?
  13. That's what I was thinking. Who in their right mind would charge after Pedro Strop? Not many, but Paul Wilson once charged Kyle Farnsworth, so you never know when or where a momentary lapse in sanity might occur. Technically Farnsworth did most of the charging. Wilson got like 3 steps in before he got the spear.
  14. That's what I was thinking. Who in their right mind would charge after Pedro Strop?
  15. Save Chapman for Chicago. Day off tomorrow so use him.
  16. Such a bitter old man. I like the "who has more hits than you Pete?" And he was quick to say "Nobody." Wish Alex would've said Ichiro just to see Pete' meltdown.
  17. He's probably the only hitter on the team that I'm fine with him doing that considering with all the hamstring/soft tissue injuries. I feel like he'll pull something if he gives it 100% one time.
  18. "This is as clear as it can get, but I'm not gonna say anything." horsefeathers off! You have no problem saying every review goes Dodgers way, but it's the Cubs being safe, "I've been wrong on these before."
  19. Seriously, the entire narrative is about the Dodgers. The Cubs are just playing a supporting role in their story. The worst was when they had the special/snippet about the 1988 Dodgers, how the current team is similar to them, and that the current players "must be getting tired of hearing about '88 and the comparison." Get the horsefeathers out of here with that horsefeathers...
  20. That's how you do it Lackey. Now get after Willson in the dugout about those dumbass catcher interferences instead of being visibly pissed off on the mound.
  21. its all scaring me Don't you watch these games w/o a shirt? Your lady likes it that way huh You guys don't watch these games naked at home? It's relaxing that way.
  22. Pence might be in a bigger funk than Rizzo. Woof!!!
