  1. It's unlikely, but it's possible that Chubb or Nelson could be there at 8, but won't be at 11. There's also a possibility that only 2 QBs have been picked and someone will want to move up so they can get a QB.
  2. Have to look at it as a 2 part deal. Howard for Landry (assuming that this deal is based that Landry signs a long term deal)... I'm just "meh" with that part even though we're freeing up a lot of money for the Dolphins. I still want something more because of that. Then it's 8th for the 11th and their 3rd. It's a nice offer, but it's not enough to pull the trigger right now IMO. It either needs to be a 2nd or they have to add like a future 2nd or 3rd. So Howard + 8th pick for Landry + 11th + 3rd this year + future 2nd or 3rd sounds about right.
  3. In 3 years, Hayward and Kyrie (if they extend him) will be 30 and 28 years old. Not sure if they'll be declining by then. Granted, that Hayward injury could put him in decline phase quicker so it'll be interesting to see how he'll look next year. Same thing with Horford right now. His game also tends to last longer than a traditional PF/C, but he'll be 34 in 3 years. I agree with you on Brown, but you're really sleeping on Tatum. Tatum can legit turn into Paul George 2.0. Let's also see if Embiid/Simmons stay healthy in 2-3 years. Now let's say they do and Fultz does find his shooting stroke again and stay healthy, then I can see them being more dominant in that timeframe, but they're going to need the depth as well. One last thing, Celtics also have 3- 1st round picks in the next 3 years on top of their own. Only 1 could end up be a 2nd rounder since Clippers might be a lottery team the next 2 years? The Grizzlies pick is top 12 protected this year, top 8 next year, top 6 in 2020, and unprotected in 2021. Then you have the Lakers pick which is only if Lakers get 2-5 this year, otherwise it's the better pick between 76ers and Kings next year unless one of them is #1 then it's the worse pick. You can't overlook this part for the C's. Ainge really did put the C's in a great spot to stay competitive for awhile.
  4. Anecdotal evidence, but I just watched a bunch of Heyward's highlights (mostly 2015 on), and literally every well-driven ball he hits, his front foot is flat. There may be something to this. Is there a reason why he rolls his ankle? Like he's not balanced/shifting too much or quick from back to front when he swings? Just curious to know what would cause it and if it's somewhat "fixable".
  5. I feel like that they should've went with 10 visits max with a SP (that should be enough I imagine), but start a clock after the 5th visit to speed it up some. Then you can do something like 3 visits max for each RP with a clock. EDIT: Does this also count for pitching coach, trainer (to see if the pitcher is injured or not), and manager as part of the 6 visits?
  6. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/chicago-cubs-willson-contreras-jon-lester-joe-maddon/
  7. He also played more than 123 games once in 7 seasons.
  8. Cavs should just trade LeBron.
  9. You forgot... 111. Chicago Bears (from ARI) WR Marcel Ateman, Oklahoma State
  10. Freeman needs to retire and hopefully gets some help. He has said that he's dealing with memory loss after his last concussion. That alone should scare any team from letting him play again. On top of that, if he gets caught again, it's a 2 year ban which would essentially end his career (being 32 this coming season). Plus... there are guys like Navarro Bowman, Zach Brown, Demario Davis, Preston Brown, Avery Williamson (if you want to go younger) or even re-signing Christian Jones back at ILB in FA that all probably can be had around what Freeman got or less IMO.
  11. I see Glennon, Sims, Wheaton, Freeman, and 1 of McPhee/Young being cut pretty easily. That's anywhere from 31.16 (Young)- 33.735 (McPhee) mil cap savings with those 5. That would put Bears in the low 70s mil cap space for FA. The rest I can see staying based on needs/depth/performance/etc depending on how much Pace wants to dip in FA.
  12. Tribe No, they were massacred by another tribe. The descendants of the Illini are now in the Peoria Tribe of Indians in Oklahoma.
  13. Lol. That's very similar where I live in Indiana. South Newton Rebels is about 10 miles away and they would have Confederate flags during games. At least I know they did when I was in high school ('00-'03). This was their logo until about ~5 years ago when someone complained about it... New logo
  14. They could still get in the top 6 with a little luck in the lottery. It would help if they tank their way into the top 5 so they have a better chance of staying there or even get in the top 3, but I'm not sure there's that BIG of a drop off in talent/potential from 6 to 8 or 10. Another thing to think about is international players. There's alway seems to be 1 or 2 in the top 10 every year so that'll drop a guy or 2 down. I never go in depth with these guys so I don't know how good this year's class outside of US are.
  15. Also, I'll regret trading Eloy if (and only if) he actually turns into something. Eloy is gonna be a stud and it’ll be regrettable if Q is a 4/5 and doesn’t stay healthy. How do the Cubs have Quintana for “twice as long”? What if Eloy is somehow a stud 3-5 years from now, but Q pitched like he normally does through his contract? Is it still regrettable?
  16. And if it's really supposed to be all time, I'm not sure how you can leave Christy Mathewson 1905 WS performance out.
  17. Are they counting playoffs too?
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] Saw somewhere that he's down to 195 from 235 last year although I'm not sure if that's true.
  19. Yeah I couldn't tell if he meant on top of the controllable SP or he just meant a top prospect (or 2 top 50) could also get it done instead of the SP.
  20. I'm guessing we asked for Hand as well as one of the starters (because on of those starters alone for Javy doesn't seem like an asking price worth "balking" at). Dennis Lin, the Padres beat guy, made it sound we definitely wanted more than just the starter, and mentioned Hand too. A buddy of mine sent me this like a hour ago. Didn't say where this came from, but knowing him, it's most likely BN.
  21. Trubisky making sure Bears lose today. Does anybody know where Bears would be picking if they lose today?
  22. I believe he would be put on waivers, not outright released. I could be wrong on that, but if so, Browns would have first dibs which would be funny as hell.
  23. 0%. He didn't have TJS until around mid season. Yep. Late June/early July IIRC.
