  1. Holy crap. Trade Garza for a little less than that, please. Looks like Latos hits arby #1 in 2012 and again the next year. If they don't lock him up, he'll get expensive quickly. If we don't get either Prince or Darvish, Garza is absolutely getting traded this year if this is what these guys can command.
  2. If we don't go big then I want a fire sale. Pretty much. If we went the firesale route and got some exciting young talent in return, I could still have fun following the team even if we only win 65 games. If keep what we have, don't add any big names (MLB or MILB) and only add a few low priced vets...I'll lose a lot of faith in the direction of the front office. I wouldn't be too upset over not adding Darvish. My guess is as good as anyone's as to whether he'll be successful here or not, but I wouldn't want Theo and Co. investing $100+ MM on something that could turn out to be an unknown. At least we know what Fielder is capable of because he's been doing it at this level for several years. We just can't afford a risk like that right now. Almost the exact opposite is true, in my opinion. Darvish is hardly an unknown, for one. He doesn't have Dice-K's injury red flags (smaller guy, herky-jerky motion) and he's younger. I mean, I prefer what Darvish is likely to get over what Fielder will get despite the fact that the guy is a pitcher, and 5+ years for a pitcher is terrible, terrifying thing.
  3. I'm probably just grasping at straws here but who's to say that Boras didn't call them and they've been talking ever since? Remember, Epstein did go to law school and like most lawyers, he's likely a master when it comes to not divulging any information that he doesn't have to. "Initiated" is the key word there, I think. That's a pretty easy way for Sveum to downplay potential Cubs' interest in Prince without lying. Or he could just lie
  4. I'm pretty sure the "all players should know be good at bunting bc it sends a good message to the team" was worse than this. Followed closely by "don't dismiss this book that claims that birds getting hit by balls disproves sabermetrics"
  5. Really, really ok with the Big East being a little down this year. Marquette has its easiest schedule since the CUSA days.
  6. If you didn't call that person on his racism and tell him to go [expletive] himself, you have chosen poorly.
  7. NO. This is not even mildly correct. EDIT: Eh. That was kinda mean.

  9. This is what I wish the Cubs would do with Castro That is an awesome, awesome contract.
  10. Epstein can stop being so cool anytime now
  11. They totally would not notice me in there. I could probably throw sexy parties for the louneg
  12. The sports media really is more dense than I imagined. Yet another thing for Theo to go home and chuckle himself to sleep over.
  13. No, that's ridiculous
  14. you might want to black out your name Agh, forgot that time
  15. Because it's fun and Ken Tremendous is my facebook picture right now. Post his response please (if he has one). I'm thinking he won't.
