    His body control is so ridiculous. He's going like 80 mph while sliding and he's still able to lift his arm and move his body away from the tag while swiping the plate with his extended foot. I'd like to see a Statcast breakdown on this, too. And I'd also like to see a view isolated on Javy. How did he even score on that? I hand-timed it at 6.5 seconds from the ball hitting the bat to him touching the plate. And there was only 1 out, so it's not like he was running with the pitch and well on his way to third already. MLBN did a live look-in & followed up w/ a OF camera showing Javy's secondary lead. It was ridiculous. He had to be almost halfway to 3b by the time the pitch got to the plate.

    Sure would. It'd help to maybe get some of the taste of vomit out of my mouth from knowing that the Cubs passed on taking Brent Honeywell after having him in for a private workout before that draft, but deciding to stick to their pre-draft scouting & taking Stinnett, hoping Honeywell to be there later.

    I'm a civilian who has no idea if Mallee is a terrible hitting coach, but I am somewhat surprised to never see speculation about him being in trouble. If nothing else, I figure sports media would make up horsefeathers about him w/ the offense being so disappointing.

    Echoing previous posts, I also enjoy football the game, but the product we get from the NFL has sucked for a long time, at least for me. No-fun rules, constant commercials, the utter militarization (over the top nationalistic fervor...YMMV, obviously) w/ jet flyovers, etc. & the basic [expletive] overall culture of the league have all contributed to making the NFL unenjoyable.
