I can't even get myself to presume that Jake would be worth his contract in year 1. horsefeathers that. I don't even want him on a discount. For me, it's basically Yu or bust. If he can't be landed, then piece together #5/#6. Sign Addison Reed & try to approximate a super bullpen the best they can.

I'm not, nor have I ever been, an Almora fan, but I don't think I could do that trade. I feel pretty confident that a Happ/Almora platoon will equal, at worst, Yelich's value for about 10% of the cost. I'm not like "horsefeathers no!!!" but yeah, don't think I could pull the trigger on this deal.

I think it's all but a fait accompli that Machado winds up w/ the Yankees. Thus, that means he'll sign with StL. I see the financials show a Harper signing is indeed possible, even w/ Zombie Heyward still on the books, but I'll remain worried about the Phillies. It'll be interesting to see what happens if they indeed take a big step forward this year.

I'm not willing to assume that the (crap) FO/ownership of the O's would fleece the Cards in any deal. The way they do business just wouldn't give me much confidence were I an O's fan.
