    I honestly never thought about Fernandez much beyond acknowledging that he was one of the game's best pitchers, and IMO, probably the most dominating RHP. I am very surprised how devastated I've felt all day after I heard the news first thing this morning. Only 24.....horsefeathers. Way too soon.

    Reminds me of Starlin at the beginning of last season. He had 20-something RBI's early b/c of multiple seeing-eye grounders that sneaked through the infield for basehits. The BABIP luck crashed & burned shortly thereafter, until the position change late in the season when he finally started raking.

    Holy [expletive]. I came to the realization after Saturday's game that all of the games I have watched with my dad this year the Cubs have lost. That's 3 in person and 6 on TV. We have season tickets we will be most definitely using come playoff time. The Cubs really need to start winning some of those games before then. Well, there's another option. I mean, for the good of the Cubs.

    I just assumed Cards fans would go to Viva El Birdos. If NSB goes down, guess I'll be stuck w/ Twitter for news/updates. There's no current community I'd be interested in joining. PSD has too many mouth-breathers for my liking (just not worth the time); bleacher nation...ehh, I like Brett just fine, but every thread there seems to devolve into political discussions & the population there is heavily red staters from what I can tell, which I wouldn't care about if politics wouldn't be discussed by the knuckle draggers there.
