  1. Hill & Pie sucked. Lieber, Soto, and Fontenot have not. Fixed
  2. My sarcasm meter is broken, help me out. No offense, but it's so obvious it's sarcasm.... isn't it?
  3. I'll go back a generation & thank Matt's dad for getting Matt's mom drunk one night and...
  4. Unfortunately he's been doing that since he could walk, methinks
  5. Yeah, that sub 1.00 ERA for Demp is brutal... Obviously it was pre-season...you clearly can't be that thick, or can you?
  6. Yeah, why give a young player a chance to learn from his mistakes. Yeah, who cares about improving your chances of winning. Reed Johnson really gave us something that Pie couldn't have right there. Besides, it's april and we're facing matt morris - what better time to let someone who is supposed to be our top prospect play? If people aren't ever willing to let a young guy play through his struggles, well, then it's no wonder we rarely ever have a decent position player prospect. I don't particularly care about the results of that one AB. Pie has no clue right now. As others said, I'm not saying he should be benched permanently. But you seem to think he'll just magically learn by staying in the game. I don't believe that to be true at all. Coaches have to learn how players respond to things and learn that they have to change. Sometimes you may have to send the message that the approach he had isn't acceptable and the only way to make that clear is by taking him out. It's quite possible that he will learn more from that then by remaining in the game. He's gone from never taking to taking too much. He looks to be attempting to learn, unlike Patterson, we just need to hope he puts it together. That's what still gives me hope Pie can become a decent player...
  7. Yeah, it's clear Fuku has a better idea of the strike zone than most big league umps...
  8. Fuku w/ another boring walk... dude is SOOO disciplined at the plate...
  9. Lieber getting the job done again... I recall hoping he'd take a rotation spot from either Dempster or Marquis...

Hey, I totally get what the argument is from the pro-Pieistas...in fact, I really would like for him to get as many big league ABs as possible...but the kid looks plain lost/over-matched; he needs to show SOMETHING to justify the ABs. I still fall in the camp that blames Hendry for failing to address (hell, even acknowledge we need an upgrade at) SS... Minus Theriot in the same lineup, it'd be easier watching Pie struggle...at least for me.
  11. I know it's not a popular POV around here, but if Pie keeps looking like he has, Johnson SHOULD get more AB's... we can't keep having an automatic out in Pie's spot, especially w/ Theriot in the lineup as well.
  12. I tried to warn people coming in that we would have some starting pitching problems this year. Granted its only 9 games, but it already looks like this may be happening. I have to admit I was expecting Lilly to not be anywhere near as good as he was last year, but I WAS expecting (hoping for??) improvement from Rich
  13. The Pirates already have 34 hits? Cuz it seemed like they were mashing every pitch Rich got over the plate...
  14. Ehh, what kind of bizzarro world is it when we can only count on Z & Dempster right now in the starting rotation? Lilly & Rich need to get going....and quickly before Dempster remembers he sucks
  15. I'm guessing you weren't thinking "infield fly rule deep"
  16. A good blackout after a night of drinking and taking home a "slumpbuster" is definitely a good thing, especially if she leaves before you wake up. Definitely...it saves you from having to chew off your arm to escape
  17. Sooooo, it's safe to say people here are o.k. w/ Fuku so far?
  18. If Woody weren't such a sham he would've been available today
  19. I highly doubt that HR prognostication...
  20. Sit down Pence, you goofy looking soap-dropper
