  1. Very Cub-like of the Nats to score only 1...thanks though
  2. Nice to watch an opponent that's even more comical on the field than the Cubs
  3. How would playing in Iowa help his shoulder recover?
  4. That gun must be way way off. According to the reading on CSN, Harden hit 95 a couple times....
  5. Looks like the ASB really rejuvenated the bats. :-&
  6. So, I'm gonna watch this game instead of helping a buddy clean the gutters of his house... Don't make me wish I had helped him Cubs!!
  7. That wouldn't make Soriano guilty of an atrocity. That would just make him a member of the 1988 Cubs. And "member of the 1988 Cubs" would include front office, scouting, stadium staff, random vagrants inhabiting Wrigleyville, etc..
  8. Yeah, but did either Fielder or Braun make Yadier their female dog like Teddy did? I'm guessing Lilly bulldozing Yadier plays at least a small part in him getting booed by the morons in red, and if that's the case, I'm very happy about it.
  9. Hanley blasts one right @ Hill.....yep, looks like a Cubs game
  10. Funny now, but if that costs the Cubs home field in the WS......oh, wait
  11. I'm trying to temper my excitement over a possible Vitters/Castro left side of the big club infield by say, 2012. I'm obviously hoping both guys continue in their development AND aren't traded for bullpen arms before then.
  12. Hopes? --a healthy ARam & Sori leading a resurgent Cubs offense --Randy Wells continues to perform significantly better than a 5th starter --Font/Baker platoon produces .270/.350/.420 Expectations? --ARam going on season-ending DL; Sori is gimpy rest of the way --the league catches up to Wells & his average stuff, but his season-long #'s will look respectable given his pedigree --Font/Baker platoon produces .230/.280/.340 I think the Cardinals take the division IF Pujols & Carpenter stay healthy, Ludwick ends up with #'s similar to '08 & they acquire one more bat. The Cubs could make it interesting, but I'm so concerned about ARam...he's clearly not "right" and a few days off for the ASB & occasional days off won't remedy that, IMHO.
  13. Too bad the bottom half is gonna be so anti-climatic
  14. I find Lou's move entertaining, but seriously, he was afraid to let Sean face the mighty Brendan Ryan????
  15. Lou must think this is an exhibition that's part of the All Star break
  16. Ehh, with the way the Cubs have looked for most of the first half, guess being .500 won't be too bad. Unfortunately, the Central sucks, so mediocrity like that is enough to force my attention for another month or so.
  17. Come on LaRussa, test Fox's arm...send Molina
  18. yes i'm sure a righthanded pitcher intentionally put his hand up to block a hard throw from the shortstop to first baseman. Well...he probably didn't have fear given Theriot has a noodle arm
  19. We'll see, but they didn't seem overly concerned in the StL dugout
  20. Hey Phillips: Aren't routine plays supposed to look easy?
