That wouldn't make Soriano guilty of an atrocity. That would just make him a member of the 1988 Cubs. And "member of the 1988 Cubs" would include front office, scouting, stadium staff, random vagrants inhabiting Wrigleyville, etc..

Yeah, but did either Fielder or Braun make Yadier their female dog like Teddy did? I'm guessing Lilly bulldozing Yadier plays at least a small part in him getting booed by the morons in red, and if that's the case, I'm very happy about it.

I'm trying to temper my excitement over a possible Vitters/Castro left side of the big club infield by say, 2012. I'm obviously hoping both guys continue in their development AND aren't traded for bullpen arms before then. :mrgreen:

Hopes/expectations for the second half.

Hopes? --a healthy ARam & Sori leading a resurgent Cubs offense --Randy Wells continues to perform significantly better than a 5th starter --Font/Baker platoon produces .270/.350/.420 Expectations? --ARam going on season-ending DL; Sori is gimpy rest of the way --the league catches up to Wells & his average stuff, but his season-long #'s will look respectable given his pedigree --Font/Baker platoon produces .230/.280/.340 I think the Cardinals take the division IF Pujols & Carpenter stay healthy, Ludwick ends up with #'s similar to '08 & they acquire one more bat. The Cubs could make it interesting, but I'm so concerned about ARam...he's clearly not "right" and a few days off for the ASB & occasional days off won't remedy that, IMHO. -

Ehh, with the way the Cubs have looked for most of the first half, guess being .500 won't be too bad. Unfortunately, the Central sucks, so mediocrity like that is enough to force my attention for another month or so.
