  1. Jeebus...yeah, hard to blame anyone on that play
  2. Let's keep complaining about who's batting...working so far
  3. [expletive] Bradley & [expletive] ump
  4. Theriot is a tremendous SS.....when he doesn't have to move to his left or right. I don't get how his UZR is so good
  5. Heh...yeah, much like Bobby Scales, Fuld appears to be having his 15 minutes of fame. As long as he is helping I don't particularly mind the love he's getting.
  6. He wasn't THAT bad. 2009 stats: ERA HLD SO WHIP 7.36 2 9 2.09
  7. Yea it was just posted in the minors section tonight. That's bad news just because we literally don't have anyone to replace him in that role. You mean his role as a gas can?
  8. While I agree Lou should use Marshall more in his outings, giving Heilman a chance to work in a fairly stress-less outing is probably a good idea. Heilman is turning this into stressful situation
  9. If only Marshall had the stuff to be a starter :-k
  10. When you score a ton you're going to leave guys on base. Exactly...the '08 Cubs left a lot of guys on base
  11. I know, sample size, but I keep waiting to see the butchery out of Fox at 3B....
  12. Fukudome is a first name too? Awesome. Very common in the Appalachian region....
  13. I'm not exactly clamoring for a Wells for Bell trade, but I wouldn't be overly upset if it happened either. I understand what Wells' probable ceiling is, & the reality is that he wouldn't fetch us a "good" bat in return, this year at least due to his likely value around the league. I just have a fundamental issue with trading a "decent" starting pitcher (which seems to be the consensus regarding Wells' ceiling) for a "good" relief pitcher. I see arguments all the time how SP is so much more important than bullpen arms....and I agree with those arguments. And if we can wait 8 weeks for ARam to come back, we sure as hell can wait several more days for Guz to come back as well.
  14. NSBB is environmentally-friendly & believes in recycling
  15. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-02-cubs-brite-chicago-jul02,0,3892212.story Did anyone catch what that quote is? Should we start a poll of the possibilities? :-)) I'm guessing none of the choices would pass through the bad-word filters
  16. Seems that way...though personally, I'm not wishing for it
  17. I don't know how to respond to an uneventful save by Gregg
  18. you don't remember the classic Ned Yost starting pitcher home/road platoon of Seth McClung and Dave Bush? Speaking of managers who went out of their way to screw up their teams. But hey, Ned was trying to "make things happen" with his pitching staff
