    I tend to agree w/ the predictions saying JH gets a relief pitcher, since we all know a bullpen arm is gonna prevent the Cubs from making Rodrigo Lopez, Joe Blanton & Chan Ho Park look like Pedro Martinez circa 2000.

    Well it's not like somebody came and stole picks from them. When you hand multi year deals to Typa A free agents that are middle relievers (Latroy Hawkins) and thus lose a draft pick, that's your own damn fault. Also, it mentions the Colvin/Samardzija draft when they were missing the 2-4, and basically stated how crappy it was to waste that 1st on Colvin and then grossly overpay for Samardzija. Yeah, I was scratching my head after that draft, and I know I wasn't alone

    IMO, expecting to stop the Phillies offense isn't all that realistic. My feeling after the Nats series was that it would take the Cubs offense to come out of Philly w/ a win; that's why I was a bit negative about this series--our pitching has been pretty damn good, but our offense needs to win us some games too. So, that's a long way of saying, screw it, take a chance w/ Fox as he helps give us some offense.

    I still don't trust the Cubs offense, and the staff is gonna be severely tested this series. I'll take one win & happily skip out of Philly. Being swept after the positive mojo of the Nats series would be a minor blow.

    That IS saying a lot, because Dusty did far worse things, much more frequently. And tonight wasn't even Lou's worse move (the hit & run, I mean, and I do acknowledge it was stupid).

    Well, I hope they win it on your telecast. It could be a different outcome for him. I still re-watch Top Gun once in a while, hoping Goose lives.

    and his BAA the last three years is like .150. he's so ridiculous when he just throws strikes... or even if he walks 1 man every 2 innings he's amazing. Is it possible that's why it is so low too though? Cause he is so wild? He wasn't walking guys in '07 when his BAA was still stupid good though... ETA: at least he wasn't walking guys at the rate he is now
