yeah, I was confused when I saw options for both freakishly often and weekly -- aren't they the same thing? I would assume weekly meant once a week. yes, which is freakishly often when married This is insane. i think omc's head just exploded

How did Onyewu fare during the Euro season? I'd be hesitant to have him fall from "stud defender/central back of the future" to "oaf off the bench" based just on the Gold Cup. he didn't look good for Newcastle. hasn't been in form in a while When Newcastle decides they don't want you, you've done something very wrong. naa ... he just really didn't play well. i watched a handful of the matches he played in, and it was the same old crap we complain about here. he started out with some promise, and there was certainly a buzz around him. he just failed to do anything, really. plus, the only reason newcastle signed him in the first place was because nearly half the team was out with injuries. i don't think they ever even had 80% of their projected starting side out there once. the rozehnal signing should help, but they better keep martins.

Obviously still on a high from it all, but today's game got me thinking a bit. Why is baseball the greatest sport? My reason -- no clock. Today would have never happened if not for baseball. In anything else, someone would have run the ball up the middle, dribbled into a corner, used up all of a shot-clock. Only in baseball can this happen. Obviously, some on here might disagree, but what do you all think? Why is baseball the greatest of all games?

is anyone interested in joining an nsbb premiership fantasy league? i did it last year, and it's pretty fun. you can sort through the rules to get all the ins-and-outs (use the "help" link on the right side and then browse away), but the gist is that you have a 100-pound budget with which to compose a full squad. obviously, the best players will cost the most, and different teams can have the same players. the players' values change throughout the season based upon performance, so it's possible to sell high (contrary to the actions of the cubs beloved gm) and make a profit, so to speak. there are quite a few rules re: scoring, mandatory formations, transfer penalties, etc. etc, so definitely check those out. the league opens up on 6 july, but there isn't really any rush, as the season is weeks away. i'll set it up if there's interest...

He's appealing it and the appeal isn't supposed to happen for a couple weeks. I suspect the appeal will take place early next week when the club in is in Washington to play the Nationals. that will make me unhappy if he's out for the series.

That's not true. He may have said the Cubs want him gone, or everyone thinks he will be gone. I've had the Score on all afternoon. Yep. There's been nothing on the Score about Jones being gone. I've been listening all day too. hm .. i take it back then. stupid other board.

yeah, this guy was pretty brutal throughout. hume = brian cardinal as far as i'm concerned. i'm certainly a novice when it comes to the rules of the game .. what's your (or anyone's) impression on the pk awarded to donovan? seemed legit to me, but i just don't know. i'd certainly have no doubt if a similar situation involved anyone other than the keeper, but i thought he was definitely anticipating where the ball would be and not necessarily going after beasley.

i'm excited for tonight. a few thoughts: i had no idea that... i'm sure hejduk will get booked again and be out for the finals (pardon my crocodile tears), but hopefully we'll keep beasley and guch clear. also, perhaps the biggest understatement in the history of the world:
