    it'd be hard for me to believe that epatt would be going down after his hit last night. it has to be cedeno, doesn't it? he's not really shown any reason to be up here, has he? epatt can play 2nd. and, with jones really struggling, maybe we get a murton-pie-derosa outfield for the time being. good news for pie, though. let's hope they just put him there and let him play the rest of the season.

    i can see the difference between cf and a corner spot, but i'm not sure i get why right would be any more difficult to play than left for sori. and his arm becomes immediately more valuable in right.

    You know he's been playing some outfield (and I remember an article about 2+ months back about him spending time after games practicing center and left) and by all accounts has played good there, so it's not like he's a outfield virgin. I understand that, but he's still a 2b and has much more value at 2b than he does in LF. It's just sad that we don't just play Murton, and that for some reason the Cubs feel Epatt is the best option from the minors to play LF. the question i have is does epatt really have any value as a corner outfielder at all?

    San Diego didn't want Randy Myers. They didn't want the Dodgers or Giants (can't remember which team) to have him, so they claimed him. It sort of worked considering the Padres won the division. But, San Diego did pay Myers for the rest of 1998 for 14 innings of work, and nearly another 14m combined for 1999 and 2000 for 0 innings pitched. Ouch. atlanta?

    yeah, i always thought his remaining stateside was due to his girl. if that's the case, i'd have a hard time imagining her unwillingness to move a place like london, though that's clearly 100% speculation on my part. at this point, i hope he gets out of mls and into a more talent-filled league. i just don't see him getting any better here. maybe beckham will have some sort of positive influence? regardless, though, he's gotta play to get better. no way he sees the pitch on a top level premier league team.

    I jokingly suggested Fulham, but a mid-table team would be best. I doubt his style of play would fit well anywhere but Arsenal, and the Arse would never want him. So, there you are. Newcastle, Bolton...Spurs. Reading. Someplace like that. he could certainly learn a thing or two from berbatov I think if he were to willingly go to the EPL, it would have to be a London-based side. I can't see him going to anywhere "out in the country", so to speak. So that's who, Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham and Chelsea, right? west ham too, i thought. and sometimes charlton.

    The Playoffs and the WS are a crapshoot. Someone like Aram, Dlee, or Soriano gets hot and they can carry you through a 7 game series. The same thing is true with a pitcher who could win 3 games in a series. It all depends on who gets hot when. That being said, we would all like to see another big bat in the lineup. that definitely seems to happen every year, but i'd argue those 3 are the only ones who have that potential. and, at this point, we know for sure that it won't come from hill/kendall or pagan. and probably not theriot, jones, floyd, or dero.

    i can't believe the number of posts over on that board that aren't happy with this b/c dunn doesn't hit well with risp. from what i've read, no one is really saying who the brewers are sending (except for gwynn and wise).
