  1. fred, you're like our doyle brunson...never too low, never too high...
  2. more crap from the cardinals: maybe the guy that made 2 errors, 1 costly, should just shut up.
  3. He seems to have lost a step. Probably from the time lost from last season, but he looked like Roger Dorn out there Sunday with the 'ole on several balls. I was expecting Lou Brown to come out of the dugout making him do some sit ups. i'm pretty sure it says in rolen's contract that he doesn't have to do any unecessary calisthenics
  4. Don't know whether to laugh or cry... i hate you
  5. I heard he's working on a 3rd pitch as well, I think Rothschild said it was a splitter or a changeup, can't remember. I didn't see him throw one yesterday, just that big hook and a fastball up. i think a change and a cutter to go along with his 1 and 2.
  6. thanks to both of you, seth and us.
  7. so, from someone totally uninformed: what are the strengths/weaknesses of the u.s. squad? i'm assuming we're a pretty physical team, and, if that's true, does that imply that the officiating will help dictate the results?
  8. just outta curiosity, where did you read this? i didn't know he had the ability to hit 99 to begin with. if that's true, this is outstanding. I wouldn't be surprised if the "mph" were a misprint and the story really just related that he is throwing between 96-99 pitches in warming up before each inning of his simulated games against Jose Macias and Augie "Boom-Boom" Ojeda. that made me sob like a school girl

  10. i remember him saying this about 'davie concepcion'. i also found it hilarious that harry would rather have "hojo johnson" instead of barry bonds because "hojo johnson" had "speed".
  11. Not this year. I think the Giants beat Carolina in the regular season. and tampa beat the skins. (the steelers and bengals split this year.)
  12. i'm just curious, why is it such a common opinion that corey is/was lazy?
  13. just out of curiosity, was that corey or eric?
  14. i'd root for a meteor strike.
  15. just a question: if there isn't any real medical reason to shut down a player, would the union even allow it? can they even prevent it? it would seem to me that (one of) the most important factors in getting paid is past performance. and, if shutting down a player for seemingly unnecessary reasons prevents him from getting wins/ks or hr/rbi, the lower numbers could be a hinderance during contract negotiations.
  16. well, if this turns out to be true, i'm guessing that'll end the damon-to-the-cubs talk. too bad he can't take something to make him stop throwing like ... "that".
  17. i'm so sick of waiting 'till next year.
  18. if hill ever were to develop a nice cutter, i think he would nearly be unhittable. i'd welcome zito's curve with leiter's cutter to the rotation with open arms. that being said, with hendry's (and dusty's, if he's still around) obvious love for a LH starter, my guess is hill takes jerome's spot in '06, if maddux isn't traded, cutter or no cutter.
