Probably when he went 1-24 to start the postseason last year. I don't remember that, but was he making contact and hitting it right at people? I don't remember him whiffing at this rate last year Less Ks, but from what I remember he basically turned into Jason Heyward/Juan Pierre. The Ks are new, but we've seen these small stretches of ineptitude before (on this stage)

Yeah I get that, but the counter is that the best two hitters the Dodgers have are up next in the 8th. It's a tough call.

If he's warming up Maeda, he might just punting here until/unless they score some runs. Let's put it out of reach. Bryant always swings through middle middle fastballs, but it seems like it's every AB this October.

Remember when Jake's pitches would move that much and he would hit the mitt every time? Pretty unbelievable considering he's a solid pitcher just spraying the zone.

I'll always love him for the 2015 Wild Card game. Yeah, he pitched games last year that meant more, but that was the game that started this whole run. For him to go into that game with the confidence he had and totally back it up made it a pretty incredible night (obviously Schwarber helped too). Yeah he turned into a bit of a weirdo and forgot how to throw strikes, but whatever. Most of these dudes are weird.

How the hell? Game 4 I had four tickets in 506. With fees, paid $100 each. When I looked on Stubhub the morning of the make-up game, tickets were going for $92 in the section, so I put them up for $90. Sold two right away, and had the other two dropped all the way down to $40 a half hour before game time before I just let a couple friends take them. Looked to be the same last night as it got closer to game time. There's 2 tickets in the 400 level for $80/each right now. I'm not holding out for a miracle, but the weather is supposed to be a good and a night at Wrigley beats a night at most other places, so I'm planning on trying to snag a cheap ticket before first pitch tonight.

After watching the Gordon Heyward injury last night, maybe we should give Bryant and Rizzo the day off, just in case.

I'm open to those two ideas, but I think you're putting them backwards, if that make sense. If the right trade is out there for a young (or really, just effective) starter that requires a Baez/Happ/Schwarber/Almora, I'm all for exploring that option. But I think we're still in an enviable position where we'll go into Opening Day next year as the overwhelming favorite to win the division. And I don't think it's prudent to sacrifice the potential upside of a guy like Baez for a marginal upgrade like Hernandez. I get that Baez has 1300 PAs at this point, but he's shown offensive improvement over last year, and I'd expect his defensive numbers to come back strong next year (mostly because, per FG, he graded out lower than Robinson Cano this year). Reduce PAs for Zobrist and whatever Jon Jay figure we bring in, and give those guys at least 4 months to see what they can show.
