  1. I flipped a coin today. There was a 50% chance it would land heads. There was also a 50% chance it would not land tails. Multiply those together, and it was an amazing 1 in 4 shot that I would flip a heads, but I did! Except what he did wasn't that. It was: a 50% chance you flipped tails and then a 50% chance you flipped tails on the second flip. Also there was a 50% chance I flipped a separate coin heads, and then a 50% chance I'd flip heads again, and a 50% chance I flipped heads again.
  2. Good call. Garza better not swing, so he doesn't ground into a dp.
  3. Yeah you will, they're on different channels. huh, strange. carry on. Not strange at all. NFC home games against the AFC are always on CBS. I think Butters will get it in Columbia, but we'll be blacked out in St. Louis, since it's a home game.
  4. Not only was it not 125, but what was wrong with letting Garza finish the game? Not only is he the team's best pitcher, but he's young, durable, and had one more out to get. I'm more pissed that he blew it. Sorry 124. I don't have that much of a problem with bringing him out for the 9th since he was being so efficient but since he is young I'd prefer his pitch counts be kept to a minimum especially in a pointless game. And if you're pissed he blew it and the Cubs didn't win; bringing in a reliever gives us a better chance to win.
  5. Did Ricketts let Quade know he won't be back next year so he's sabotaging the team for next year by leaving our pitchers in for 125+ pitches?
  6. Len and Bob mocking the Cardinals for complaining all the time.
  7. I hear he's not real fond of you, either. :(
  8. why did Lopez hit for himself and remain in the game? He obviously lost it (if he ever had it), and I'm just following on gameday.
  9. I blame the lack of a GM who emphasizes catching the ball. Players probably don't think it's important anymore. I can understand why you would assume it was the Cubs, but it was the Cards that blew the defensive plays.
  10. the blackout restrictions suck, but I've had MLB.tv for two years now with almost no picture quality complaints.
  11. I was excited when I first heard that, but that's about the same price I would spend if I went to the bar every sunday to watch the games.
  12. according to Gameday this ump has a bad strike zone. None of the first 5 pitches to Pena were a strike.
  13. did anybody else just hear Brenly's evil laugh, or was that just on MLB.tv?
  14. Was the trade not made in time to activate Colvin for the game? Even if that is the case, why the heck is Campana batting first? Anybody would be better than Campana.
  15. Hell no! Swing early, swing often. Is there a more unproductive hitter in baseball than Marlon Byrd? At least from the standpoint that his team thinks he is a middle of the order type of hitter. Didn't both Byrd and Soto hit the ball hard?
  16. and Reed Johnson has the luxury of only playing a couple of times a week. I think a lot people don't realize how exhausting a 162 game schedule over the hottest months of the year is for an everyday player. If not playing balls to the wall all the time means they can play a couple of extra games a year (not even factoring risk of injury) i'm all for it. Every player needs to find a balance. The better you are the more valuable to the team you are so it's less important to run out every routine grounder or pop out for the .1% chance of an error that is difference between being safe and out or getting an extra base.
  17. I blame whoever it was who pointed out how well he had been doing since June.
  18. sounds like that may have been the unluckiest 2 run inning ever for dempster.
  19. i'm gonna go with "mike quade is a bad manager" this is why I don't necessarily agree with the posters who don't see any harm in letting Quade finish out the year.
  20. why did Garza bat for himself? Isn't he well over 100 pitches?
  21. I didn't think Sori had a chance when that was hit. nice play.
  22. I guessing he threw a curveball to Castro that fooled him. and I agree
  23. ? Castro ran through a stop sign and scored easily. He was rounding third when the left fielder was picking up the ball. Dejesus also seems to send a runner when they have very little chance of scoring and the situation doesn't dictate being aggressive.
