  1. Star-Len
  2. Not sure if he did yesterday as well, but good to see Trammell bat Soto in the middle of the order. Colvin Castro Lee Soto Byrd Sori Baker - 3B DeWitt - 2B
  3. I could only laugh when I saw Hermida's name again....let's just give him a rest once and for all please??
  4. Of course I missed it
  5. Well, 1 season's worth of UZR isn't really telling, as that model can have a lot of variability from year to year. But yes, I do think Castro is a good defender at SS. He is great at making contact, that's for sure. The thing about the Jeter comps. is that Jeter always had a good walk rate and was particularly good at getting himself on base. So far Castro hasn't shown that, but he's very young so I expect him to figure that out eventually. And OBP should be more weighted than SLG because of the expected run values of a BB, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, and out. Here's a good thread: http://www.insidethebook.com/ee/index.php/site/comments/why_does_17obpslg_make_sense/ But it's not like he's been bad either .307/.359 and that's with zero BB in his last 17 (!) games...presumably because he's been hitting so well.
  6. Byrd was actually one of three players selected by his peers
  7. I've watched him over there a few games. He can catch balls thrown to him. I don't know if I've ever seen him dig a throw out of the dirt. He usually misses them. I'd say his defense would really frustrate us, after having DLee over there for so long. Ha, this was funny....I would sure hope so!
  8. It's not a great format, but the tv schedule is here... http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/soccerblog/world_cup_tv_schedule_dYWHbgHv8zCR6GFLumD1cP Here's one that's a bit easier to read: http://www.worldcupblog.org/world-cup-2010/espns-world-cup-2010-tv-schedule.html
  9. Only guy with a history vs. Kershaw (4-8)
  10. Someone in the paper today (Rogers maybe...?) said there is actually a decent chance the Cubs DO sign back Howry to a minor league deal....
  11. Hilariously ridiculous
  12. Here's where I got the Lee being out info, also Caridad: http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/04/cubs-put-reliever-caridad-on-dl-promote-gray.html Also, on a kinda funny side note, LaTroy Hawkins was behind me in McDonald's line this morning while I was waiting for coffee (I didn't even know he was on The Crew). He was hanging with Zaun.
  13. Lee out of the lineup for X today
  14. Not sure if you're talking about tonight or the season in general, but I think Randy Wells should have a real decent year. On a side note -- I went out with a girl Sunday night who says Randy Wells is stalking her....wtf was she doing with me??
  15. Didn't look to see if it was posted, but same lineup's as Game 1 I believe...definitely for the Cubs.
  16. If someone is going to the trouble to make a "joke account" then they have far more serious problems than just bad jokes. Really? Someone who makes a joke account has serious problems? I think your reply proves my point, but whatever. Here's your stick back. Who is seriously wasting the time to do that?

  18. Not trying to be an arse, but wow that was a lame first post. You are kidding, aren't you? Kidding about what? It was extremely unfunny and I think the grit and hustle schtick has been beaten to death on here.
  19. Not trying to be an arse, but wow that was a lame first post.
  20. With the SAME posters as always starting the arguments....
  21. Are they doing wristbands this year?
  22. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/02/freddy-garcia-curses-the-cubs.html Sorta surprised he was just putzing around the hotel this hammered. Kinda funny, but since when is this dude even relevant?
  23. Absolutely hilarious, unfortunately the Cardinals get to play against him as well.
  24. I wouldn't be opposed to Nelson, as long as he doesn't make much more then what he made last yr which was 1.3 mill. A Wuertz type perhaps?
