Huh? Zero reason to play this game tonight, ZERO! Worst weather at a start of a game that I've seen in 20+ years. Except for $$ Decision = not his I actually do realize that, just need to take the frustration out on someone. And right now, it's him. There have been a lot of changes over there that I'm not a fan of recently. And honestly, while I'm semi on topic, the "help" aka workers at Wrigley, have pretty much hit rock bottom.
Who sang the stretch? Dutchie Caray and Pete Vanochen, who I am pretty sure is 206 years old. I thought he was going to go into cardiac arrest and fall out of the booth at one point. CSN was telling Len & Bob to get this old dude to shut the hell up so we can go to commercial. They did not do a good job.
That just does not sound like a good idea a) Can Geo get his ass down far enough to play infield? Doubtful b) Is he a good enough hitter for 1B for a championship caliber team? Think not
Fukudome, rf Barney, 2b Castro, ss Ramirez, 3b Soriano, lf Byrd, cf Pena, 1b Soto, c Garza, p Thinking about grabbing a ticket today, some decent stuff for $8-$25 on Stubhub. Great weather.
From what I've been able to notice recently, it seems as though scouting reports are now telling pitchers to throw outside, just off the plate, early in the count to Castro. He seems to swing at a lot of these pitches and foul them off, putting him in a quick hole, or turn them over and ground out weakly to the left side. Just needs to work on his discipline more, certainly the weakest part of his game along with the random fielding mistakes.
Fred McGriff and Henry Rodriguez are the two that come to mind. No clue on the third. Rick mutha [expletive] Wilkins FTW! Is it weird that he was the only one I was certain of? Talk about an outlier season in a career -- wow
