  1. I have a direct ferry to the Giants games, which is pretty sweet. the ferry is nice but it does take a while. Vallejo? Bart is ok on the way too but after the game is kind of a hassle as compared to having the station right there. When I used to take it, I'd usually grab a beer after the game somewhere to let Bart clear out a bit. Like you said, trying to get on right after the game would be awful.
  2. Steele, Rucker, and McKinstry are at the top of my list. I was totally going to say McKinstry and Rucker. Based on them saying 3-4, I'm wondering if one is a fringe roster player. Wick, Smyly, Steele and Rucker are my guesses.
  3. Yeah, let's all show some sympathy for Victoria Pilzen. Worst GD in a group stage is -22 and most goals allowed in a group stage is 24. With that group, both of those are in play. I wouldn’t put it past Bauer putting up 10-12 by themselves.
  4. Well I’m pretty happy with Spurs’s UCL draw getting Eintracht Frankfurt, Sporting and Marseille. I’m not going to say they should win their group but I’ll be a little disappointed if they don’t. Of course the last time I was really happy with their draw was 2016 and they finished 3rd in their group that year. Group C is the toughest group with Bayern, Barcelona and Inter.
  5. and easier to get to/from That too, though I don’t mind taking Bart in to SF.
  6. I like the fact that the Cubs will be in Oakland every other year rather than every 6th year. Much cheaper tickets there than in SF.
  7. The Braves are 26-28 against teams over .500. The Padres are 20-27, the Phillies are 29-34, the Jays are 34-43 and the Rays are 34-37. All of these teams are currently in the playoffs. Are none of them good either? Who said the Cardinals weren't good? I know It's a common tactic here to move the goalposts in the middle of arguments, but I'm keeping them in place. They are mildly good, the definition of mediocre. I mean, you literally just did say they aren’t good by calling them the definition of mediocre. You said it a few days ago too.
  8. 10 games as of right now, but who's counting? I guess it all depends on what you think is a good team. The 2016 Cubs weren't playing teams with a .420 and below winning percentages (in their division). The Cardinals would be in 3rd place in the NL East, 2nd place in the NL West. The only division they would be leading other than the NL Central is the AL Central. They are the king of the dipshits, a wildcard team. The definition of mildly ok. The Braves are 26-28 against teams over .500. The Padres are 20-27, the Phillies are 29-34, the Jays are 34-43 and the Rays are 34-37. All of these teams are currently in the playoffs. 9. Paul Goldschmidt age 34: -career high BA by 18 points -2nd highest OBP -career high SLG by 65 points -career high OPS by 51 points -on pace to hit over 40 HR for the first time in his career. We've also got a 40 year old Adam Wainwright with a 3.11 ERA in 150 innings. Pujols now up to a .858 OPS. The only shocking thing is that Molina has been hurt most of the year and awful when he has played. I assume he'll have like 4 big hits in the playoffs though.
  10. Only 12.5 back of the third WC spot!
  11. Pujols has an .814 OPS this year. The last time he had an OPS over .800 was in 2012.
  12. Yep. Spurs did this with Poch too. They went from 69 points the year before he was hired to 64 points the first year with him. Gave him the full year. Bought Davies and Dier before his first season and then Dele mid season. After that first year they brought in Trippier, Alderweirrld and Son while shipping out a ton of dead weight that didn’t fit the system. Of course they didn’t give Nuno any time last year but he was like their 8th choice and they fired him to get the guy who was their first choice and who they should have hired in the first place.
  13. Tuchel lost his mind at the end of that. I get it. He’s upset his team lost the least and he’s really upset at how it happened with the bad calls. But to flip out over Conte not looking him in the eyes is ridiculous. I get why the ref red carded both coaches after the game but that was all on Tuchel. Chelsea should have won that game. After the first 10 minutes they thoroughly outplayed Spurs. Neither Spurs goal should have happened. I thought Chelsea played well. They had some good chances and easily could have scored more than they did.
  14. So in the LDS there’s no off day between G4 and G5 and in the LCS there’s no off day between G5 and G6 which means they play 5 straight days. That’s definitely odd. Has to be to get the WS games played on specific days, right? Plus there’s a weird off day between G1 and G2 of the ALDS.
  15. Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I found a pair yesterday that I think will work but we'll see when they arrive. I tried on the same shoe in a different color so I assume it will be okay but you never know until you actually put them on. Normally I can get by with a size 13 for regular shoes but the soccer cleats I tried on tended to be a bit tighter. A couple I tried I barely even laced them up and I could tell they wouldn't work. My wife is going to Minnesota in a few weeks so I might try to find the Copas in a store there for her to pick up for me since I know a slightly larger size will work just fine in those. They're supposed to be tight! Where do you play on grass? The couple I tried were hurting my feet before I even laced them all the way up. I know they can stretch a bit but that didn’t seem like a good sign. We’re out in Roseville now so it’s at a field out there.
  16. LOL ManU.
  17. Just this years playoffs I think.
  18. I think they assumed that since Peter Crouch retired it wasn't necessary anymore. More seriously, it looks like Eurosport has a handful of options that go up to 15 if that helps: https://www.soccer.com/shop/products/footwear/mens-cleats-shoes?order=0&page=1&filter=price__11-250&filter=footwear_men__15 Thanks, I'll take a look at that. 19. It's 2022 and yet pretty much every soccer cleat only goes up to size 13. And the one major one that you can get in larger sizes - the Copa Mundial - I can't get here because California banned the shoe since it's made with Kangaroo leather.
  20. MLB giving themselves a 1 year timeout after realizing how horrible of a mistake it was to make this year's game Cubs-Reds.
  21. LOL they’re ranked 18th. That’s got to be by far the lowest team to get a 1st place vote right?
  22. I quite enjoyed waking up this morning to see ManU trailing 2-0 at halftime at home to Brighton.
  23. Also, placing a couple parlays on games you’re not even playing in is apparently 3 times worse than sexually assaulting 30 women.
  24. [tweet] [/tweet] Hell of a finish in the final of a major tournament.
  25. Not when ownership is straight up lying about how much money they have to spend. It's all part of the equation. If I clearly have the income to spend X on a new car and could do so without overextending myself at all or preventing myself from making other significant purchases by doing so, but instead I choose to limit myself to 60% of X as what I want to spend, my budget constraint isn't 60% of X. It's still X. I'm just choosing to limit myself to 60% of X to spend on a car. yeah but he's talking about the constraints that ownership puts on the GM. you can spend whatever you want on a car, but if you tell your kid they can only spend 60%, they can only spend 60% He said the Cubs as an organization shouldn’t have budget constraints but they do. The Cubs as an organization don’t have budget constraints. The owners are being cheap and don’t want to spend. We’re not the A’s or the Rays. They have budget constraints. EDIT: Regardless, the Ricketts suck and I know we can all agree on that.
