I don't think the people who posed the question are the same ones who give Corey "unlimited slack". Also, some of the reason that people would prefer Corey over Jones isn't over performance, it's about age and contract. But at the same time Jacque has had a couple good seasons in the majors while Corey had half of a good season. I understand your point but at least Jacque has proven to be a decent player. He's 30, going on 31 while Corey is 26 so I see your point on that matter as well as Jones' 3 yr contract. Here's hoping Jones turns it around.
Corey's last two season for the Cubs were horrible especially 2005. On another note, anyone else notice the Orioles like Cubs castoffs. They got Sosa for 2005 and Patterson and LaTroy Hawkins this year.
We'll see when Milwaukee plays STL next week. They have beat up on the Pirates and D-Backs this week. Cincinnati got Pittsburgh also. I do agree that the Brewers have a MUCH better chance to contend this year.
Whenever I would turn on a telecast of the Cubs playing at Wrigley with the Cubs playing at home I just knew they were going to lose because we relied on the home run so much.
That's what everyone said about C Patt. Even if Jacque gets hurt that will still prevent him from making outs. Wouldn't that be a good line for the season. If Jacque suffers a season ending injury he'll finish the year batting .000
I just hope somebody starts to hit in right field. Whether that is Jacque, Pagan, Pie, etc. I just want some production out of that spot. I don't think Jacque should be dropped yet. Maybe against a lefty pitcher. But dropping him now will just hurt his confidence. Give him some time.
