Yes. Yes he did. Right when he hit it I thought "alright, the game is at least tied." The the LF kept going back and I stood up and put my arms in the air as the ball soared onto Waveland. I started jumping up and down and screaming. Then about 20 minutes later the cops showed up and I got a noise violation. Well, I made the last part up. But the rest is true.

We have a day off tomorrow... shouldn't be a big deal. Anyway, did anyone thing the crowd reaction/tension in this game/energy makes this feel like a playoff game in April? That reaction to the Granny is reminicent of the crowd when Woody hit a HR in game 7, though obviously not QUITE as raucous. It just feels like a playoff game to me. That's an excellent point. After Ramirez walked you could tell that even with just a base hit the crowd was going to erupt.

BTW on another note and I'm not sure where the thread was. But we have seen numerous shots of the painted on tops of chairs in the Cubs dugout that people were talking about. Just to confirm it.

That's awesome. I love it when you can hear fans chanting on tv. I went to a Giants-Dodgers game at Pac Bell a couple years ago when Grissom was CF for LA and a Giants fans in left center started to say "What's the matter with Grissom?" and the rest of section would say in unison "He's a bum" We talked to some fans that had season tickets and I guess the guy does it every series with every CF. Then a couple months later I was watching a Giants game on tv and I heard them doing the "He's a bum" chant again. I started laughing uncontrolably.

The only people that aren't on it are [fill in the blank with a word impling lack of matter between the ears] that claim he's defense is more of a liabilty than his offense. Ahahahahaha. Not that Barrett is as good offensively as Piazza, but nobody ever complained about Piazza's defense when he was hitting the ball well.
