    Well, the next two games are on WGN. :shock: Isn't tomorrow's game on ESPN? It's on both. SO ATTN: EVERYBODY WATCH ESPN OR WE LOSE OKAY? i think steve stone is doing the game, so there's your incentive to watch. So does that mean the game is going to be blacked out on ESPN? They often do that with Giants games out here if it's supposed to be televised on ESPN and FSN. Blackouts in the Chicagoland area. I want to hear Steve Stone :cry: It should be nice to hear Steve Stone tomorrow.

    I don't have a problem with what Milliedge did at all. Like somebody else said, if he continues to do it, then it will become a problem.

    This is a pathetic game thread. EDIT: Almost as pathetic as the Cubs offense has looked today.

    Haha. BBTN's first story was Clemens and they are going to interview the kid that hit the HR of Clemens.

    I think that was stupid for them to do. I loaded up ESPN.com and saw the red "Breaking News" thing and thought something important happened. Then I realized it was just a Clemens update. It would have been one thing if he would have thrown 3 or 4 perfect/no hit innings, but he didn't.

    I have returned from class and am now watching the game so things will now improve for the Cubs.

    I'm in favor as well. So that means the game threads for the Saturday and Sunday games have until midnight Central time but the other days have until 9pm Central time the night before?

    Just have to be #1 in the central. If the Cubs climb & the Cardinals drop (SHOULD at least some) in the next couple of weeks they have a shot to make th division reace interesting. It's insane to think that this team has a shot, but stranger things have happend AND you got to at least hold out some hope... it's the Cub way. That's a good point. The Padres were only 7th in the NL at the end of the year last year and they ended up in the playoffs.

    Houston was 15th place last year on May 24. I'm by no means saying that the Cubs are going to pull a Houston because I don't think the Cubs are as good as the 2005 Astros. I'm just saying it's possible.

    A 34-year-old second baseman is probably not getting a multiyear offer so if the Cubs offer him a contract it'll probably be the best one. Hope they do. Hopefully he'll give the Cubs a discount as well. I'm just worried that Hendry and Dusty think Neifi will be suitable for 2B next year since he is already signed. :x

    Why couldn't Hill have pitched well when I watched him when Iowa played in Sacramento? I got to see him get hit hard enough while he was on the Cubs. Hopefully he figures out how to be successful at the major league level and hopefully that success is with the Cubs.

    It is the ugly side of the boards showing which is part of the reason I do not post much here. Cubs get a great team win 8-0 over Houston and people are tearing each other to shreds over Z's extra 10 pitches. Not that it is not a worthy discussion but I think it should carry on in it's own thread on Baseball Discussions rather than here. Personally, I was surprised Z was able to escape the 8th without further damage. Probably he should have been pulled but he managed to fight through it without further damage. When he started falling behind badly to every batter I knew he was pitching on the edge. It's a great win, everyone came out healthy, difference of opinion happen. Meh, I don't get it sometimes. I agree with you in the sense that it seemed like Z started to lose it a bit in the eighth inning and that's why I would have taken him out after he lost the no hitter.

    It's much more depressing to listen to MLB.TV, get the Astros feed, hear the Astros announcers talk about their team hitting rock bottom after today's game, then looking at the standings and realizing that the Astros would only be 4 games under .500 if they lost today.

    Z's homer was a line shot into the right-center field bullpen and definitely was not a cheapie. Re the last comment: close. Pierre has 5 RBI. Yeah, Z crushed that ball.
