    Germany deserved that victory though. With all the chances that they had in the game, they deserved a victory. I feel bad for Poland because they played unbelievably well, but when you are playing a man down against a team like Germany it's only a matter of time before they score.

    Oh my goodness. That was unbelievable. I can't believe they didn't score there. WOW. I love the World Cup!! Goal Germany in extra time.

    If we can get rid of Pierre to get Hunter then I say do it. Otherwise, don't bother.

    The Red Sox have the same problem with David Ortiz when they play in NL parks and I'm pretty sure they put Ortiz in the lineup.

    We have to beat Italy on Saturday and it would really help our cause if Ghana beat the Czech Republic. In that case, all 4 teams would have 3 points which would give each team a "win and advance" scenario for next Thursday. Also, if we do end up with 6 points and lose out on goal differential, I agree with you that it will have been a successful cup. Any time you beat Italy and win 2 of 3 games, you have to be happy.

    Tunisia scores the tying goal in the second minute of extra time. That's gotta hurt Saudi Arabia. A couple minutes away from their first WC victory since 1994.

    Al Jaber just came in as a sub for Saudi Arabia and scored a goal on one of his first touches. A bit of a change in the first game for Saudi Arabia. In 2002 they lose 8-0 to Germany. In 2006 they are 4 minutes + ET away from a 2-1 victory.

    I had to go take a final so I missed it live but I just saw a replay during halftime of the Tunisia-Saudi Arabia game and that was an excellent goal.

    The main reason that play was bad was because Wade was the defender. Howard would outjump anyone else. It still wouldn't have been a great play because you still need a virtually perfect pass. Dirk definately should not have been inbounding. Miami still has to win all three at home to have a chance because there is no way they win 2 in Dallas. I could see them pulling one out, but no way do that win games 6 and 7 in Dallas.

    Agreed. Should have been a no call. And even if you call a penalty kick, there is no way that's a red card - a yellow at best.

    Big win for Miami. I still don't think they will win the series, but it's a big win nonetheless.

    Apparently $8m in guaranteed cash. Yeowza! Carson Palmer's signing bonus was $10m as the #1 overall pick in 2003. $8m would be one heck of a carrot. Brady Quinn will most likely go #1 in the 2007 NFL draft assuming he doesn't get hurt this year so Samardzija would only be good enough for #2 at best. That's assuming no wide receivers enter early as well. The Cubs are probably trying to trump any money that he could get in the NFL.

    Good night for Prior. Not a bad pitch count, would be 126 for 9 innings, and he threw a lot of strikes. I would like to see him make one more start at AAA though before being brought up.
