  1. If it is one of the girls off of his myspace friends list, I may start trying to impersonate him just to hook up with them. EDIT: Here is his myspace for those who haven't seen it. Just for the record, "The Girl Next Door" is my personal favorite but " ♥ Dont hate me cause I got what you want! " is an extremely, extremely close 2nd. Read the comments from the girl whose name I highlighted. Have you ever seen "Fatal Attraction" and Glenn Close saying, "DAN, I WILL NOT BE IGNORED!!!"? It reminds me of that scene. Wow. Those girls are amazing.
  2. What about e?
  3. Treeman is still MIA so I'm taking his spot. Hopefully the Cubs can take this series and head to Cincinnati on a high note. Also, since the game is on ESPN, there is a possibility that Steve Stone is announcing. Cross your fingers on that one. Sean Marshall is 3-3 with a 4.80 ERA this year. Chris Sampson is 0-0 with a 5.06 ERA this year and will be making the first start of his career. EDIT: I am 0-0 career on game thread starts and, like the Cubs this year, I hope to start off with a win.
  4. Since he didn't actually lose, Treeman is still the thread starter. That issue came up earlier this season and I believe that was the rule. Serena has Uber as the starter in the "Game Thread Starters" thread. Either way, what time does either Uber or Treeman have until before somebody else can start the thread? I thought it was midnight, but who knows. That's what I thought and it is midnight Central time right now. I think I'll just start one and if the mods want to delete it then so be it.
  5. Beat you by 1 minute. :D
  6. My money's on Dontrelle Willis, Gabe White, Brad Lidge, and Boof Bonser. Yeah Lidge. Borowski too. Probably not David Wells. C.C. Sabathia, Aaron Small, Terry Mullholland, and Felix Hernandez, don't forget them. In honor of Bill Simmons we have to include Roger Clemens.

  8. Tied a Giants franchise record set by Christy Mathewson. Wow.
  9. How late do we have to wait for UberGoober to start the thread before somebody can step in? I have dibbs on tonight.
  10. Tango, I have to ask this question: What do you think of Joe Morgan and how ironic do you think it is that he's on the cover of "Baseball For Dummies"? And please, be brutally honest. Thanks.
  11. Sampson is a righty so we should have a chance tomorrow.
  12. That was the first thing I noticed. Only 3 more walks in 2005 in almost twice the at bats. Maybe Colvin might become a better PRO, then he was a college player. I think, Colvin could very well be a very good---not a superstar---player for the Cubs inside of 2 1/2 yrs. I think he is going to progress that fast. I hope you're right.
  13. I gave him a 9 because he has exceeded my expectations for him. I think he'll drop by the end of the year, but so far he's been great.
  14. He has impressed in his two appearances this year.
  15. Didn't we sign Dempster to the same type of deal though? We signed both Williamson and Dempster for two year deals and they both have worked out well. I think Miller is a one year deal . Ok. I didn't know the differing lengths of the deals. I was referring to the "signing an injured pitcher to a deal and hoping he works out" sort of thing. But thanks for the info on the lengths of the deals.
  16. All should be forced to covered the Kansa City Royals until they pulled the heads out of their butts. Between ESPN and Fox, you have to wonder if either sports program realize there are OTHER teams outside of the Red Sox, Yankees, and Cardinals. They did jump into the Cubs/Stros game last night when Z was pitching in the 8th. I must admit that I was impressed with that. Only because Kruk threatening to eat Karl and Harold, if they didn't show Z's potential no-hitter. I believe Kruk call Z for his cy-young winner this yr. He want get it, but atleast somebody acknowledge Z's ability. Kruk did have Z as his Cy Young winner this year.
  17. Just saw this on ESPN. It was the same agent as in the Bonds case.
  18. Yeah, but its about time Oswalt got injured.... Alot of experts thought he would, but that was because he had thrown 200 plus innings per year for some time now! that's pretty ridiculous. Maddux has been due for an injury since 1987 (I'm counting 2002, a season in which he through 199.1 innings). Oswalt does throw mid 90's. Not sure how much that factors in but I would think it would put more stress on his arm as opposed to Maddux's. I do see your point though.
  19. That was the first thing I noticed. Only 3 more walks in 2005 in almost twice the at bats.
  20. Wow, my friend that's a Notre Dame fan is going to find this hilarious.
  21. Wasn't that the same type of report on one Jerry Rice? I'm not saying that Samardzjia is another Rice, but I wouldn't knock him.
  22. This was almost the shortest game thread of the year. But we've passed that mark now.
  23. I don't think Jones is going anywhere anytime soon.
