  1. I realize you're exaggerating but you might be underrating Boise State just a bit. I like Boise State, but OU has been a buzzsaw for about 2 months now. Add in that they have a vast physical/talent advantage and I think it's going to get ugly. Boise State is 14th in total defense. Before you dismiss this with they typical "they didn't play anybody", let me say that they did play in the WAC which typically has good offenses. They pounded Oregon State and scored 42 straight points. They demolished Nevada on both sides of the ball. This team is better than people think. I think Oklahoma will win the game but I don't think it will be a blowout. And I'm still not sold on Paul Thompson as a competant QB.
  2. I hope everyone in America agrees with you. And I mean that. Agreed. because that means that everyone else in America realizes, like you do, that Notre Dame doesn't deserve a BCS spot. Under the BCS rules, with only 2 teams allowed per conference, ND does deserve a bid.

  4. Nothing about ND losing sucks.
  5. That's not really saying much.
  6. If you're a betting man you'll get good odds on that.
  7. No shock there. Thanks for posting that.
  8. Orange Bowl has Louisville vs Wake Forest. Once again, no surprise.
  9. No surprise for the Fiesta Bowl with Boise state vs Oklahoma
  10. Selection show on now.
  11. I wouldn't call it a non-controversy.
  12. Yup. Just as I thought. And I posted this right when NY tied the game.
  13. i'm sure everyone on this board was on the edge of their seats awaiting the final from that game  That wouldn't surprise me in the least. :D
  14. Worthless Cowboys defense. Dallas is gonna win this game by 3 points and I'm going to lose my bet.
  15. And the Texas all but wrap up a victory over the Raiders. It's 23-14 Houston with 2:19 left. And the Raiders have no timeouts.
  16. Come on Dallas. Get the TD. And Barber does it. 20-13 Dallas.
  17. not if you have a great defense. Penn State has one of the 10 best defenses in the country. But they're 55th in offense and 72nd in turnover margin, and all of their good offensive performances came against bad teams. typically a top 10 defense in the country is enough to get you ranked no matter how bad your offense is. that's a little difficult when you play four teams that are better than you overall and you don't pull any of them out. typically a team with a top ten D gets into the top 25. Auburn's offense has proven to be only marginally better, their defense only marginally better. yet they find themselves sitting at what, #10? after getting smoked by a generall uninspiring Georgia team two weeks ago? c'mon man. the difference between those two teams are slight. certainly the difference is not one at #10 and one not rated whatsoever. TCU is 4th in total defense and they just got ranked this week. Miami is 5th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Wyoming is 8th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Georgia is 9th in total defense and they aren't ranked. Western Michigan is 11th. Clemson is 12th. Florida St is 15th. All of those teams are ahead of Penn State (16th) in total defense. Penn State played a harder schedule and better offenses than nearly all of those teams. Florida State, Miami and Georgia have defenses in the same league as Penn State, but the rest don't. My point was that a good defense isn't everything and doesn't make you a good team and doesn't mean you should automatically be ranked.

  19. We need an Eli Manning interception.
  20. didnt michigan put up like 14 points against 3-9 BSU? They had a downstretch earlier. Michigan lead BSU 31-12 late in the third and let them back into the game. I posit that Tennessee is severely overrated, Penn State severely underrated. and not that Wisconsin played anybody, but I'm not exactly impressed with the resume of LSU or Auburn either. the resumes are pretty much equal, until you consider how UM won their games and how Florida won their games. Florida always scrambling, UM always rolling. Why is Penn State underrated? Because all four of their losses came to good teams? That doesn't change the fact that they didn't beat anybody. If anything, I would call Penn State overrated.
  21. How far would you be willing to go with that logic? If Arkansas beat Florida yesterday then what? Does Louisville go to the title game then? West Virginia? Boise? Arkansas? I was thinking under the assumption that only USC, UF, and UM had shots at the title game. USC went down so scratch them off. If UF went down also then UM would get the title berth. Personally I think Boise and Louisville should get serious consideration but realistically I know they won't because of how they and their conferences are perceived in the media.
  22. If he does it against a good team the Bears defense might not be able to save the team.
  23. It's not dribble. I'm guessing you might feel differently if you weren't a Michigan fan. I absolutely hate Michigan but thing they should go the National Championship. call me weird, I just think the two best teams should play for the National Championship and the decision shouldn't come down to a media created desire to not have a repeat game in the NC. repeats have happened several times over the past few years and it was never an issue before. A lot of people - myself included - don't want a rematch either. Michigan had their chance to beat Ohio State in the last game they played. They lost. I'd like to see Florida, a one-loss team from what's probably the best conference in college football, get their shot at Ohio State. That's a good point. I never thought about it that way. It would be one thing if Michigan lost to Ohio State early in the year. I don't think it will be a good game but UF-OSU should be the title game even though I think Michigan is better than UF.
  24. Nice catch by Shockey.
  25. WVU front seven: DE: 6-3, 250 DE: 6-4, 290 NT: 6-4, 295 LB: 6-1, 245 LB: 6-1, 215 LB: 6-2, 225 LB: 6-2, 230 Wisconsin front seven: DE: 6-2, 260 DE: 6-6, 234 DT: 6-4, 282 DT: 6-5, 311 LB: 6-2, 214 LB: 6-2, 220 LB: 6-2, 232 Wow, those look pretty similar don't they. Are you going to call Wisconsin's front seven "skinny assed" now too? difference is that Wisconsin's O-line is all over 310 lbs, while WVU has only 1 guy over 290. And Wisky's line isn't just big, it's really good. I agree, they'd probably manhandle WV. I wasn't debating whether Wisconsin's O-line would dominate WVU's D-line because I know - from looking it up - that Wisconsin's O-line is big. I was refuting the notion that WVU's front seven was "skinny assed" which they clearly aren't.
