  1. Wade Miller Is that what the caption says? Yup. I'm not sure that's Miller. They showed him throwing on the news last night, and he looked to have short hair, and no facial hair. I could be wrong though. http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/7306.jpg Wuertz http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/6270.jpg Miller It looked like Miller to me.
  2. Although that lean and mean part doesn't apply to Piniella. http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/ap/20070219/capt.azmg20102191830.cubs_spring_baseball_azmg201.jpg
  3. That's how it should be. Wisconsin beat OSU in their only matchup and have one less loss. The coaches have Ohio State at the top followed by Wisconsin. They're followed by Florida, UCLA, and UNC in both polls. Link to polls. Honestly, I wouldn't have been upset or surprised if OSU was first in both polls. Most of the poll stuff is just a product of who lost last. Yeah, I realize that. And going back to think about it, using my logic from before, I would put Florida at #2 ahead of OSU. I'm really looking forward to the OSU-Wisconsin game this Sunday. Should be very good.

  5. winrar. type it into yahoo search, just another version of zip I think he means, and this is my question as well, how do you update an XBox game?
  6. I will be none too pleased if Wuertz starts the year at AAA.
  7. This may be more that The Powers That Be see DeRosa as a better RF backup or platoon option since he has experience there. I've heard that he has a good outfield arm. It would make more sense to have him play RF and Theriot 2B than the reverse if you want them both in the lineup. Eric Patterson will hopefully earn a look later this season. I'm all for positional flexibility when it makes sense. That's true, and I could see Piniella putting DeRosa in RF over Jones with Theriot coming in to play 2b against lefties. Man this team really needs another infielder. Theriot's sample size isn't really all that small. He's definitely earned an opportunity to show what he can do. Theriot just turned 27 in December, so it's not really fair to say he didn't make it until age 27. Brian Giles was 25 when he got his first decent sample size at the major league level. Paul LoDuca? 27. I'm sure there are many others. Will Theriot have an OBP over .400? Absolutely not. But, the guy gets on base at a very respectable level. 53 games is not a full season, but it's not just a total fluke either. DeRosa in RF while Theriot plays 2b against LHP is, IMO, a whole lot better than DeRosa at 2b, Jones in RF and Theriot on the bench. Ryan Howard was 24 when he saw his first time but didn't get full playing time until 25. And he didn't play his first full season until last year at 26. Not that Theriot is going to be Ryan Howard part II or anything.
  8. This guy is a prime candidate for a ban. Book it!!
  9. I agree. Guzman I could see, but not with Hill pitching as well as he did last year at the ML level. I just don't see Hendry parting with Hill. Well, barring a blockbuster trade that nets the team a star a la ARod. But I don't see Hendry going out and actively shopping Hill.
  10. Same here. I'm trying my hardest not to get my hopes up this year although it's quite tough. Can the season just start already.
  11. Huge 88-69 win for Stanford. They needed to pull off an upset in one of their last few games here. Their resume is looking better and better for the tournament.
  12. Might want to check your math there, that's only a 43 point win. Not that a 43 point win is anything to scoff at. I mis-typed the score. 92-39. 53 point win. Ah. Guess I could have looked it up on ESPN. :D

  14. Campbell can flat out shoot. Tatum with a crossover move and a jumper to push the SIU lead up to 6 at the 4 minute media timeout. That was a very nice shot by Tatum.
  15. This SIU-Butler game has been very good. SIU has been threatening to pull away but Bulter is staying in it. Campbell just made back to back 3's to cut the SIU lead to 3.
  16. They need to get rid of the red and white stripe on the side.
  17. He must have been hanging out with Kate Moss all winter.
  18. I bet there is an over/under in Vegas on the date Clemens makes his first start this year.
  19. I'm really looking forward to this SIU-Butler game.
  20. We'll have a new #1 next week and barring a loss to Minnesota tomorrow, it's looking like it will be Ohio State.
  21. Florida down 11 at Vanderbilt with 7:30 to go.
  22. He pitched in the 2001 and 2003 World Series' but has never won one.
  23. "Who's Mark Buehrle?" http://www.baseball-reference.com/b/buehrma01.shtml Apparently you missed Greg Maddux's quote from a few years ago. Link Such a great quote.
  24. Yeah I agree. He could go out an perform well and shut some of these critics up. But right NOW, none of them will say it is in ANY WAY possible. Just like they did for Jones. They had him not batting above .250 with an OBP not at .300. Yeah, that bet that somebody made to give everybody something if Jones accomplished certain marks came a little closer than he wanted, although by the last week he was safe. :D That was me. I stand by that bet. It took a career season to make it close. And for the record, I fully expect Jason Marquis to be Shawn Estes level bad. Hey, if Marquis pitches a complete game shutout in the last week of the year to help the Cubs clinch the division, I won't complain.
  25. Will there be a shrine to Pujols in there?
