    2006: 29th in OBP, 28th in Runs 2005: 20th in OBP, 20th in Runs 2004: 22nd in OBP, 16th in Runs 2003: 24th in OBP, 20th in Runs Something tells me pitching (namely relying on Wood and Prior) hasn't been the only major problem this team has had over the past four years. Agreed. Relying on Prior and Wood was a big problem but it surely wasn't the only problem the team had the past couple years. You don't finish with the worst record in the NL because you rely on two pitchers and they get hurt. That's right, because if they didn't get hurt, you wouldn't finish anywhere near the bottom. You also wouldn't finish anywhere near the top. If a team finishes in last place because two of their best pitchers got hurt, chances are that team wouldn't even sniff the playoffs if those two players were healthy. The point is, if a team finishes in last place in their league, that team probably sucks.

    :lol: Ditto on loving to see him do very well. Over/under on when KW replaces Dempster as closer? I'd say May 1st. Will that be before or after his first DL stint of the year?

    Upset special at East Lansing. Michigan State leading Wisconsin by 5 with 2 minutes left. Neitzel has 28 including 6-11 from 3 tonight.

    Real big game tonight. Lots of shuffling going on in the middle of the Big 12, hopefully Mizzou can get their 3rd in a row against an OU team that hasn't fared very well on the road. Lunardi is normally very, very good with his predictions. I'd really like to believe that the Big 12 has that much weight, if for nothing else that it keeps a shred of hope that Mizzou could get an at-large with a miracle spurt to end the season, but I don't think that's the case. The Big 12 is down this year, 7th in RPI(just below the Valley and above the Mountain West) among conferences, and I'm not sure if KSU is guaranteed a spot considering some of the other conference crunches, unless they beat one of the other 3 tourney teams(KU, aTm, Texas) in the conference tourney. Where do you find the conference RPI? I found each team's RPI on a couple sites but have been unable to find the conference rankings.

    Noah existed. The ref has to handle the ball first, so no matter who's holding it there's no reason for Noah to flip out and try to get it back. Then there's the matter of it being the opposing coach with the ball, which anyone with a modicum of common sense knows you don't instigate anything with during the game. PS- I thought I already made this post, but apparently I didn't. So if you see something similar in a Soriano thread or something, there you go. The coach didn't have to slap Noah's arms away and that's when Noah flipped out. There was no reason for the coach to do that.

    I just saw Joakim Noah's incident with the Vandy coach from Saturday and I have to say, Noah didn't do anything wrong there. The Vandy coach had no reason to hang on to the ball there.

    The Cubs had better not trade Jacque to sign Steve Finley. It would be such a horrible idea.

    I didn't think it was Wuertz, but it does resemble Eyre http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/5869.jpg Either way, it's good to see the guys laughing instead of on crutches. EDIT: Now that I look at it closer, it does look more like Miller than anyone else. But I thought I saw him on the news with no facial hair yesterday. I was probably wrong though. Wouldn't the guy need to be a bit heavier to be Eyre? Sorry, couldn't resist.
