  1. hey it's 4:20 now ;) I always forget about the time zones.
  2. So is the "exact" start time 3:25?
  3. Well Duke was #10 coming into the week and lost both games this week to unranked opponents. They'll drop at least to the mid teens and anything short of winning out will prevent them from getting a #1 seed. ETA: And considering they are sitting at 5-4 in conference and still have to play North Carolina twice in the ACC, a 2 seed is unlikely at this point.
  4. For me it's close, but it's Merriman. On that note, I don't know if anybody saw this but starting next year, a positive steroids will prevent a player from participating in the Pro Bowl.
  5. Not even close. :? As a non-Bears fan, are you even qualified to chime in? Hmmm... Heh. Well considering my team got absolutely pounded in the Super Bowl two months before the Cubs 2003 season started, I can say yes. And I was so much more distraught when the Cubs blew the NLCS.
  6. Well, Wuertz posted the best ERA at 2.66 of any reliever on the team last year and the best ERA period for anyone who saw substantial time (Ryan O'Malley had a 2.13 ERA in only 12.2 IP). He also posted the second best WHIP for a Cubs reliever last year (behind Howry) and third on the team (behind hill as well). There was no reason he should have been in AAA for a couple months last year.
  7. How many posts per page is that? 20 per page. Your post was the first on page 88. Quality, my man. We're working on providing quality. Shouldn't you be preparing for the game? I provide quality in all my posts. I'm always prepared for the game. Bob Sanders was born ready.
  8. Aaron Brooks had a very good, wide open look at a 3 at the buzzer but missed it and Oregon lost to USC 71-68. The Ducks were swept in their trip to SoCal and were swept by USC for the year.
  9. Good game in SoCal as USC leads Oregon 45-43 with much of the 2nd half still to play. Oregon needs a win here after losing to UCLA the other day. Pac-10 should get 6 in the tourney this year and potentially 7 depending on how the year finishes up.
  10. Wolf is extremely disappointed right now. I know it.
  11. You mean the Rock em Sock em Robots tournament is cancelled?!? :wall: How about this: The Lions and the Raiders play 7 on 7 flag football. Winner gets the #1 draft pick. Hey now, we worked hard to earn the #1 draft pick this year. I don't need the Raiders giving it up in some 7 on 7 flag football game. :D As for the Janet wardrobe malfunction, not only did I miss/not remember that but I don't remember much of the second half of that game.
  12. Apparently Troy Smith has said he wants to be drafted by the Cleveland Browns. Link
  13. Sorry to society? What? Did Tank kill someone or something? How did the charges against him adversely affect society? Tankful of Excuses You saw it coming...what a hypocritical hack. ETA: I thought the judge who let him come here was a Packer fan, not a "judge in Bears clothing." While I agree with you...Johnson did say some pretty stupid things there. If you watched the interview, you'll see what Plaschke wrote doesn't match up with the questions Tank answered, making him look much, much worse. And ask Bill where he is when USC athletes are accused/suspended due to rape/assault/drug possesion/etc. "Of course I would say that. I've never felt racism in my life before, but now … I look at it like, is this because I'm a certain thing?", "I'm young, I'm black, I have tattoos, I'm easy to stereotype. I don't look like you, I don't walk like you, I don't talk like you." - Tank Johnson While I agree with you (Raisin) for the most part on the stupidity of Plaschke, these two quotes by Tank are just ludicrous.
  14. True-but it wasn't long into the second half before the Patriots weren't trying to keep Manning off the field anymore, but were trying desperately to score points to somehow stay ahead of a Colts offense that was absolutely rolling. I think the Bears running game will do the best any team has done in the playoffs against the Colts-a big key to their effectiveness could be though if Grossman can step up early and make some huge throws to loosen the defense up. I can see the Colts trying to play this game like the Chiefs game in the 1st quarter, and it will be interesting to see if the Bears can respond quickly to that or not. True enough, but even when the Colts closed the gap, the Patriots should be involving the run game in the offense. This is the same thing the Saints did (whether it was because McAllister was hurt or whatever), just passing is going to get you in trouble (especially when you have the Colts' pass rush). If Belichick continues to run the ball, the Colts continue to stop it, and the Colts come back to win, then Belichick gets criticized for not being aggressive and getting too complacent when he had the lead. Belichick knew he wasn't going to keep the Colts offense down and knew he needed to score some points in the second half. I don't know how anybody can criticize New England's choices offensively when they scored 34 freaking points. Do you know when the last time a team scored 34 points in a conference title game and lost the game was? It's never happened before. If you're going to blame the Patriots in any way, blame their defense because their offense certainly wasn't a problem.
  15. Obviously I'm not a Bulls fan but I figured I would brag that I'm covering the Bulls-Kings game next Thursday.
  16. In Bill Simmons' column today (well, it's not a column but rather just a bunch of photos) he made a comment about how easy it is to get a pass for media day. He said that Jimmy Kimmel live decided to send a couple of the American Idol rejects to media day. Simmons didn't say anything about them singing with Rex Grossman but he said they forced Adam Vinatieri sing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" with them.
  17. I just saw this play and I have to say is that referee went down easier than an Argentinian soccer player. I'm not condoning what Mayo did because he shouldn't have even got close to the referee but there was no need for the ref to flop like that.
  18. Kobe's 1 game suspension for tonight's game against the Knicks is complete crap.
  19. I'm shocked it is still there. They already got my other one where I accidentally dropped what appears to be an F. Thanks for bearing with me since I was drunk, mods. We're going on 3 days now. Apparently the GFSD forum doesn't need to be moderated.
  20. There are two sides to that argument though. You say that Tiger's opponents are more talented and there isn't as big of a gap between Tiger and the field and use that to say Tiger is better. You say that until an opponent beats Federer that he will never be in Tiger's class. But isn't the definition of dominant being far superior to your opponents? Federer is far and away the best player in tennis (and it's not even close) so he would actually be more dominant than Tiger is. The way I see it, if you have guys who can routinely beat you, than you aren't as dominant. Tiger has a few players who can beat him (as you stated). Federer has one. Federer mad the final of every tournament he played last year except for one. By the way the statement of your that I bolded above actually says Tiger gets beat down far more than Federer does which, I believe, contradicts your argument.
  21. Federer plays on different surfaces like hardcourt, grass, and clay. There are even divisions among the hardcourts. He also has to, you know, run around. Playing four days in a row for four hours? All Tiger does is walk and then swing a club. The athletic requirements for tennis are far more demanding than those in golf and the main reason why they don't play every single day in tennis. As for weather, it's not like they play tennis matches in a controlled environment inside. He still has to deal with the wind as well as the heat (in some tournaments).
