  1. All I know is that this ensuing argument about this question is far and away dumber than the question may or may not be. EDIT: Spelling.
  2. Don't worry, he'll have a chance to return to the NL during the year when he gets DFA.
  3. Izzy, as in "Izzy going to the DL again?" I thought it was "Izzy gonna make another out en route to another 0-4 game?" Izzy going to ground out 4-3 or 6-3?
  4. That's the first time I've heard Aaron Brooks sitting being bad for his team. What? Wrong sport? Damn.
  5. Well, that all but ensures a Bear will get arrested next week. My money's on Tank Johnson.
  6. I'm going to go with Marquis but Izturis is a close second.
  7. That will never get old. I hope he's getting better but this is wonderful if true.
  8. Feb 7th is a fixture date, so getting the release of all 8 shouldn't be an issue. I'm going to assume you meant isn't a fixture date.
  9. I hope that wherever he ends up, he plays.
  10. The Falcons have said that they have no plans to trade Vick. Link Good because this means that horrible deal Foxsports reported won't go through.
  11. I read that....And it's for the 2006 season... Heh, just reread the job description again. Nice catch.
  12. Just saw it on SportsCenter. Gonzalez threw the ball behind Cedeno on a 3-0 pitch. Cedeno didn't like it and started jawing at Gonzalez. Gonzalez started walking towards Cedeno and they continued jawing (Cedeno was sort of walking towards first but not really). Then Gonzalez charged at Cedeno and the benches cleared. Both were ejected.
  13. I bet Jon is still bitter that Raisin passed him in total posts.
  14. Also be careful blitzing Manning too much...he will make you pay. fixed What about Pittsburgh and San Diego last year? They blitzed him quite effectively. If you can conceal the blitzes well, (Which we don't do) and if you can get pressure on him (which doesn't always happen with our blitzes) then there is nothing wrong with blitzing him. In fact, we might have to end up blitzing him. If you cannot get pressure from the front 4, he'll pick your cover 2 apart. You can't sit in a zone against Manning. Pittsburgh and San Diego are both 3-4 defenses. 3-4 defenses have confused the offensive line in the past (see also the Dallas game from this year). The offensive line has never had much of a problem picking up blitzes from even the best 4-3 teams. It's a big thing in Indy before every game-the inevitable question, are they a 4-3 or a 3-4? I'm not saying the offensive line is perfect, but how an offense blocks a 4-3 and a 3-4 is a little different, and all the defenses the Colts have ever had trouble against are 3-4's. This is very true. The problems that Peyton has had in the past have all come from teams that run 3-4 defenses. I'm very afraid he'll pick our defense apart. Of course, I was afraid Drew Brees would, too. So we shall see, we shall see. We'll need another superhuman effort in this one. Don't the Jags run a 4-3 defense? Manning had a hard time with them. Jacksonville tends to run a 3-3-5 against the Colts, but that is probably a pretty good comparison to the Bears (when Jax is totally healthy). They tackle well, and they stop the run well. Manning's never had a problem with pressure against them, it's always been about finding receivers-and the game at Jax his receivers dropped I think 8 passes that day. That is very rolleyes worthy, bro. The Colts always have problems with the Jags, when was the last time they've scored more than 24 against them? Last year in Week 14 Indy beat Jacksonville 26-18. ETA: Indy also scored 24 points in both games against the Jaguars in 2004 as well.
  15. The Titans do not grant the Cowboys permission to talk to Jeff Fisher. Link
  16. 1. It's a sad troll. 2. I put mine up as a joke (much like Treeman's USA sig) last night - the reason I was sending you the PM's - and when I woke up this morning, Truffle had it as well. I can't speak for him as to why he decided to use it as well.
  17. Me too. I just can not imagine a manager saying this about a player and a player that may be playing for him this year. What's so hard to believe? Did you listen to the audio provided by the radio station? The exchange in Amazing_Grace's sig actually happened.
  18. Sports Reporter. Too bad I don't live in Chicago or I would be all over that.
  19. I don't think that's true at all, especially on this board, where fans tend to be more informed than the average fan. From what I've seen, the Bears have the best defense in the league, but a below-average quarterback and an offensive line that isn't always good enough to keep pressure off him - which is when he really struggles. I think the Colts will win because I think they're a bad matchup for the Bears - they're the best passing team in the league, and that's where the Bears can be beat. I hope for the Bears' sake that they don't buy into the "let's just run the ball all game like Jacksonville did" bull. This isn't 1994-95 Nebraska versus Baylor, these are two really good NFL teams playing in the Super Bowl. I'd like for the Super Bowl to be competitive, especially since I won't be able to watch until the second half. Actually, New Orleans was the best passing team in the league, and it didn't help them much. I think the weather will be a little different in Florida then it was in Chicago though. Colts had a higher completion percentage, more touchdown passes, fewer interceptions and were sacked less. They played in a tougher conference and most teams specifically had game plans to try to make Indy run the ball.
  20. If you are talking about me, I said very clearly in one of my posts that I have seen Bears players do it too, and they DO NOT get a free pass. I don't care who does it, it's immature and doesn't belong on a professional football field. Go back and reread my posts if you don't believe me. And what more needs to be said to get you to drop it already? I said I was done with it many hours ago. I guess that just isn't good enough. Au contraire. You were actually the one I was specifically thinking of who did not give Hester a free pass and admitted to not liking his behavior either. I thought it was you who didn't like Hester's actions and was actually going to say that but I wasn't sure so I left the name out. Sorry I made it seem like I was calling you out and misinterpreting your statements in the other thread as that was not was I was trying to do.
  21. It's time for the segment 'Everybody laugh at the Knicks'. The Miami Heat, playing without Shaq and Wade, went on a 27-0 run in the first quarter against the Knicks today. The Knicks held a 3-2 lead and eight minutes later, they found themselves trailing 29-3.
  22. Missed the point, but whatever. Its over. I've already rubbed shoulders with you guys, so I shouldn't try to win you guys back. I feel bad about it, but thats the way it is. The point is all Truffle was doing was pointing out that Hester has celebrated in the same way that Reggie Bush did. But some Bears fans, who were so quick to chastise Bush for his actions, gave Hester a free pass for his actions because he plays for the team they root for. It works both ways and apparently you fail to realize that.
  23. If the Bears had been assessed 7 penalties and the Saints only one, I guarantee you the Bears game thread would've been replete with complaints about the officiating. Not saying it was a poorly officiated game - although the one offensive PI call on the Saints was terrible - but that's the truth. I understand that its tough being outnumbered 300-1 by Bears fans on a forum, but you've grown to be incredibly rough with them. EDIT: Actually, going back to the NFC Championship game, I just found you hunting for a fight. Nice job Truffle. You're no better than a troll. I've lost all respect for you. Sweet, Truffle can join me as a troll on the board. Excellent. Glad to have company now. 8-) I'm incensed to not be in such elite trollish company. Forgot about you. Always with that damn pro Notre Dame agenda. You're in. Maybe I should start a thread for all us trolls to converse amongst ourselves. A "Stupid Trolls" thread perhaps. I tried to say something to Truffle but then I saw that he earlier just went in a Bears thread and out-of-the-blue just started asking for trouble " Well if Devin Hester did that earlier, blah blah blah..." C'mon. It wasn't even talked about until he brought it up again. Sometimes people look for negative attention. You know it. Get over yourselves. Just because someone is a fan of a non-Bears team doesn't mean he can do no wrong. Sure you guys catch a lot of flak, but that doesn't mean you guys can get away with anything. Truffle was pointing out that Devin Hester celebrated the same way (sans flip) against the Rams on one of his kick returns and that some Bears fans who ripped into Reggie Bush and call him classless for what he did, praise Devin Hester (not all Bears fans do this but some do). Watch this video. On both returns Hester does a Deion strut the last few yards to the endzone and then dances after he scores the touchdown. On the second return he points backwards while he's still running. Now, besides Bush's flip, please tell me what the difference is between Hester's celebration and Bush's.
