  1. He's not. You're wrong. Why should he, because he's the best player on the best team? That logic is stupid. Look at the guys he's got around him. You can't tell me that if you took Dirk off that team and replaced him with an average power forward that they still wouldn't win 60 games. They would have had the #1 or #2 seed anyway. Same goes for Steve Nash. Put Barbosa in there and the Suns would still win 55 games. A team of Terry, Harris, Howard, Average PF, and Diop doesn't win 60 games at all. Do you think Nash should have won MVP either of the last two years? If you say yes, then you're being hypocritical. Don't forget Stackhouse. As for your question, I don't remember the first year he won it but Steve Nash should not have won the MVP award last year - though he did have a better case last year than this year, but that's not relevant to your question. The best player on the best team argument bugs the hell out of me. EDIT: I would put Dirk ahead of Nash this year.
  2. Ron Ron is at the Warriors game. Haha.
  3. As somebody who is indifferent about both the Bulls and the Pistons, I'm looking forward to this series. Should be very good. Oh and thank you to the Bulls for not just taking out the Heat, but in the fashion they did. Miami didn't deserve to win the title last year and I'm glad they're gone.

  5. Oracle arena is ROCKIN right now. Tied at 77 after three quarters.
  6. Good news.
  7. I think we should do a 'Vote for Murton' campaign similar to the 'Vote for Rory' campaign some NHL fans did this year.
  8. Agreed. I just didn't want him to come back and have a horrible year. I'm definitely pleased to see him hit some HR's again.
  9. Yeah. On one hand I really want Ronny to get sent down but on the other hand, I wand Murton and Pie to get more playing time at some level. If that means one of them plays more at AAA, then so be it. They just need to be in a lineup. Plus I'd rather have Ronny rotting on the bench in Chicago than Murton and/or Pie.
  10. Not a fan of bean ball? I think this may have something to do with Lou and Tony being buds and Tony not wanting him to get the wrong idea. I don't like it when a manager orders a bean ball for no reason. If a pitchers is throwing bean ball, he's not going to throw a curve. There was no reason for LaRussa to order his pitcher to throw at a Cub hitter but he did anyway. That I have no respect for.
  11. Wow. Just checked that out and yeah, a seatbelt wouldn't have mattered.
  12. I bet ESPN shows a replay of a Yanks-Sox series in the place of the PPD Cubs-Cards game tonight.
  13. Pitch him. Reportedly he's already left Iowa and rejoined the Cubs to get some side work with Rothschild in. What this may change is that they may send down a pitcher rather than a position player; with two upcoming days off and the Cubs' starters going deep into the games (including Z finally) they may not need to carry 12 pitchers for now. Guzman could be used as the long relief man if necessary.
  14. When reading that, I don't want to make any early assumptions but...... How the hell do you die from rear ending someone? Unless it's some kind of gruesome Final Destination type thing. Tow truck vs. Explorer. Tow truck wins big time. He might not have been wearing a seatbelt. That's what came to my mind first. Regardless of whether he was or wasn't, RIP. I just hope he wasn't over the legal BAC limit.
  15. "When there's a cheap shot against the Cubs, I don't want to be a part of it." So when some idiotic newspaper writer puts out a stupid column, LaRussa is outraged because he is quoted in the article. But when a Cub pitcher accidentally (with a curveball) hits a Cardinal and you come back the very next inning and have a Cardinal pitcher drill a Cub hitter (with a fastball) that's okay. Get your priorities straight Tony. Don't BS us like this. This is bush league by TLR. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't agree with what the columnist wrote but there is no need to boycott a whole newspapers questions because of what one moron wrote.
  16. that's what i'm assuming. more like top 15 imo. Kind of sad. that's the thing about getting great players. Better chance to win it all, but the window is much shorter due to early entry. Bill better get cracking on that 08 class. So who's going to be the favorite in the Big 12 next year? Texas is losing Durant. aTm is losing Law. Kansas is losing Wright and Rush. Looks like a down year for sure for the conference. Did you not see the 5 mcdaa's that kansas has coming back? If that is a down year we should all have one. KU wins the conference again. I didn't necessarily say Kansas specifically was in a down year but the conference as a whole. If Kansas is the only good team and the rest of the conferences stinks, that still counts as a down year for the Big 12, right?
  17. Get off Quinn's stuff. He isn't that good. btw, you sound like ESPN. He IS that good. Explain to me in rational terms why he's not. Nothing about "big games", because that's crap (Russell crapped the bed in his team's biggest game in 06, why does nobody bring THIS up?). I originally called Cleveland as an 07 playoff team, but after allowing myself some time to think about it, I'll pull back slightly. They'll be a .500 team. The other two ND guys were both taken higher than I thought they'd be, but Abiamiri is going to be a good one, Eagles fans will like him. Ryan Harris sucks. I'm going to assume you mean the Florida game in which he had 1 TD and 3 INT's. He also had a average at best game against Auburn and, though he led his team on a game winning drive in the game, threw three picks (one pick 6) and lost a fumble in that game as LSU almost lost.
  18. If you put up 3.5 yards per carry in any conference, yes that includes the SEC, there is no reason you should be drafted in the second round.
  19. I haven't seen the match yet (downloading it now) but I saw highlights of the goals and I have to ask, where on earth was the Chelsea defense on the second goal? Two guys wide open on the far post? Horrible marking.
  20. There was this big sporting event today, maybe you've heard of it... I hate football. Dont expect anything tomorrow, either.. with the Bulls game & all. The fact that it was on FOX didn't help. Only the people who lived in an area where FOX was showing the Cubs could watch the game. Most of us were stuck with Yanks-Sox and couldn't watch on the internet because MLB.TV was blacked out. Plus IIRC from last year, the Saturday threads were usually the shortest. Tomorrow will be much better.
  21. I would think the best case scenario they envision has Pie adding more power and being the 5-6 hitter behind Lee and Ramirez(or splitting them up, whatever). Hopefully Lou has the sense to put Murton at the 2 spot when Theriot's BABIP fortune runs out. That would require Lou to actually start playing Murton on a regular basis.
  22. Well, now I'm pissed and I have to go to work. I hate you Al Davis. Please retire.
