    Well, this sucks that ARam has to go to the DL but at least they don't pull a Soriano II and have him sitting on the bench not playing for a while.

    Who cares about his D at this point. He's a 40 HR and .900 OPS machine. Geter' Dunn! In his five full seasons he's had an OPS of .900 or higher twice. If you want to count his 2001 season (244 AB's) then you have to count his 2007 season (220 AB's) in which case he's only done it 3 out of 7 seasons. I wouldn't call that a machine.

    If MLB is going to suspend anybody, they should suspend all three of Hudson, Renteria, and Lilly. You can't suspend one or two of them and not the others. Both Hudson and Lilly intentionally threw at batters. Renteria not only intentionally elbowed Fontenot, but was the reason the benches cleared. I mean, does anybody really think that if Renteria had just walked to first base like Soriano did on Saturday, that the benches would have cleared? I doubt it. Instead, he walks towards the mound and Lilly.

    Who, the Royals 6 times? They do have the Royals for 6 games but they also play Oakland, Philadelphia and New York.

    It helps the site. It's only 10 bucks a round....so what's that around 80 bucks max if I win it all? Only 60. Obviously, Vance isn't a math person. :D

    That's interesting. I knew about the starter having to go 5 innings to get the win but I didn't know they decided it in that fashion.

    I don't think you do. There are only 4 umpires on the field. If there's a brawl and the umps don't see one player deck another one but video picks it up, I would think that MLB could review the tape and suspend the player.

    i'm on board with any argument that cites number of all-star game appearances. Not that I'm advocating using All-Star game appearances to measure how good a pitcher is but at least the fans don't vote on which pitchers go so it at least makes it more legitimate.

    European League news: -Bayern Munich will not be in the Champions League next year and will be forced to settle with the UEFA Cup after finishing fourth in the Bundesliga. The top two teams automatically qualify and the third goes into qualifying for the CL. -Real Madrid can win its first Spanish title in four years with a win next Sunday at home against Mallorca. Ruud van Nistelrooy scored in the 89th minute to give Madrid a draw on the road while Barcelona surrendered an 89th minute goal at home and tied Espanyol 2-2. Barca and Real are tied with 73 points going into the final weekend. -Meanwhile, Messi has done his latest Maradona impersonation this time replicating the infamous 'Hand of God' goal. Search youtube for 'Barcelona Espanyol' for highlights and you'll inevitably find it. It's pretty obvious. EDIT: . Around the 1 minute mark they show slow motion replays.

    I have seen the Messi-Maradona video and the similarities between the two are very weird and interesting. The second goal I had yet to see and that is amazing.
