I'm mainly disappointed that the Cubs have managed 5 runs in 2 games against the pathetic Giants. Hopefully they can bring that average up against Cain tomorrow and especially Morris on Thursday.

For real. Earlier in the season there was like 25 page game threads for the whole game. I just took a quick gander back around last August, and the game threads were ranging between 11 and 15 pages. Weren't there a couple of Saturday threads that were 3 or 4 pages in Premium?

Because everyone in the media is dumb. Kendall has 292 ABs this year and is OPSing .542. His on-base is lower than Jacque Jones's. Did I mention he's on a $13M deal this year? Cubs will be paying less than $4M though. Pirates on the hook for $5.5M which leaves 7.5M. Less than half the year is left so the Cubs are up for around $3.5M.

Because the media looks at his career numbers and remember that he was good in 2000 whereas everybody here sees his sub 600 OPS this year and realizes that he's over the hill.

Posted this in the Flashchat but the Pirates are on the hook this year for $5.5M of Kendall's $13M salary this year.

Awful. Incorrect. Other than Messenger, they haven't been very good. They have the 6th best pen ERA in the NL. That's a couple spots above average which is surely not awful. Really, I stand corrected. From what my friend always says about the Giants pen, I just always got the impression that they sucked. I don't know how statistically inclined your friend is but their pen has a 7-16 record which is due to their horrendous offense not providing any support.

Not bad. They improved a ton when they dumped Benitez on the Marlins. Their whole problem this year has been with their horrendous offense.

Pat just quoted some numbers from a start of his not too long ago against AZ - 7IP, 3H, 0R, 0BB, 12K. Apparently he at least has the potential to be a stud. I know it's only five starts but look at his AAA stats this year 5 GS, 31 IP, 1 R, 0.29 ERA, 46 K, 11 BB

If you ever get a chance to wastch the games called by Kuiper and Krukow, you would think he was the greatest ss of all time.....even at his age today. Absolutely horrible broadcasters. Kuiper isn't bad and Krukow sounds like he's drunk all the time. They aren't great by any means but they're not that bad and usually pretty funny.
