Can somebody tell me what the deal is and why hitters (not just the DBacks but teams in his previous starts) are hitting so many foul balls off Hill? I mean from a 'how he's pitching' standpoint. Is it bad because they're making contact or good because they're barely getting the bat on the ball?

Based on this logic I assume you think Pete Rose and Joe Jackson should be in as well, and I agree. What they did was wrong, but didn't undo their accomplishments as a player. I agree with their lifetime bans as far as future involvement in baseball is concerned, but I disagree with the rule that a lifetime ban prevents a player from being elected. And I believe that's a HOF rule, not a MLB rule. At least the Joe Jackson Black Sox scandal happened when he was a player. I think Rose should be in as a player and there should be mention that he was caught betting on baseball as a manager. But he should be in as a player. Jackson I'm on the fence about.

I love the comment about the weakness of the Cubs' opponents - if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black!!!!! If you switched Brewers with Cubs they would sound just like us. EDIT: I liked this comment:
