  1. IT WAS IN AAA DUH At a hitter's haven known as Colorado Springs. I'm not saying it should be discounted but that has to be taken into consideration. Even if we were to adjust for the park factors, his OPS from tonight's game would be off the charts. Truth.
  2. nah i'm not doing that... i don't think the mods want us giving links to rub erroneous evaluations in the faces of long-time posters. But it's not hard to go back and find the old threads, if you want to read through some of them. I assume it was in Transactions?

  4. can that even be right? my goodness, this is a big market major league team...that's pathetic. that'd be hilarious if this were the 2006 cubs and all you can do is laugh at them... unfortunately this team is actually pretty good, so it's just depressing. I guess we can feel good that the ineptitude of our catchers hasn't put us out of the playoff race. To go even further: Cubs starting pitchers: .161/.173/.229/.402 Cubs catchers sans Barrett: .141/.217/.221/.438 That's right, Cubs starting pitchers have a higher SLG than the catchers do.
  5. Talk where? In the media? By the fans? That doesn't mean anything. It's pretty simply. Krivsky is going to get what HE wants for Dunn and Griffey or he will hang onto them into the offseason and probably into next season. Dunn's price tag is cheaper then Griffey's, but both are going to cost you something nice. Either somebody is going to step up and make a deal, or nothing will happen. I'm not sure if I like the strategy or not, but that's what is going to happen. if the cubs and reds were gonna make a deal for griffey, what would you as a fan want back from the cubs? For Griffey? Marshall, Patterson, and a pitching prospect along with the Reds not having to pay any of his salary. If that's what the Cubs give up the Reds better be picking up part of his salary.

Murton & Marshall Murton can't play RF, and even if he could that is the position Josh Hamilton should be playing. Dunn is the Reds Lfer, for now. Jay Bruce will probably be playing LF in Cincinnati a year from now. I thought Hamilton was a CFer? And why should he be playing RF? Not trying to be argumentative, just wondering.
  7. With all the young guys the Brewers have, I don't really think it's smart for them to make a move that only helps them this year and gives away part of their future. It would be one thing if they had a bunch of free agents or old guys on the decline and this was their last chance, but that's not the case at all. It really sounds like the Brewers got screwed in this deal.
  8. Link to the thread, Truffle?
  9. Johnson K's. Giants win.
  10. Salty K's on an eye level fastball. 2 down. EDIT: Kelly Johnson up.
  11. Leadoff double for the Braves in the ninth and then a groundout to the first baseman moved Francour to third with one out. Salty coming up.
  12. I can't wait for the NL West teams to start beating each other up. EDIT: Well, except the Giants, of course.
  13. Giants hold the 2-1 lead going to the bottom of the eighth. Lowry has pitched very well today — 8 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K. Oh, and not sure if anybody mentioned it already, but Glavine picked up career win #299 today.
  14. Aurelia homers to give the Giants a 2-1 lead over Atlanta in the bottom of the sixth.
  15. only 1 back in the loss column in the central. Tied in the loss column with the Padres.
  16. Hank Aaron in 16 seasons ages 20-35: 6 40+ HR seasons. Hank Aaron in 7 seasons ages 36+: 2 40+ HR seasons. Babe Ruth in 12 seasons ages 24-35: 9 40+ HR seasons. Babe Ruth in 7 seasons ages 36+: 2 40+ HR seasons. As you can see, there's a difference between the productions of Aaron/Ruth and Bonds.
