You're off by a day on both G7s. NHL G6 is Tue June 17 and G7 is Fri June 20. NBA G6 is Thu June 19 and G7 is Sun June 22.

Kind of seems like 2-2 is where we should be. OKC should have won G1 and Indy should have won G4.

Yeah, I kind of felt like this was almost a must win for both teams. Indy got their road win in G1 in what was fairly lucky fashion. Now they've got to win another game in OKC where they've crushed teams all postseason outside of 2 games. And for OKC, even knowing they had G5 and G7 at home, it's still a 3-1 deficit which is pretty hard to come back from, even for a 68 win team. I'm definitely not writing Indy off at this point, but I agree that was a big missed opportunity for them.

This is our 6th series against Pittsburgh since he got called up and will be the 6th time we’ve faced him. He’s faced the Cards 5 times (and is 0-4 against them, the only team he’s lost to more than once) though he didn’t face them in one of the four series last year.

Relative to this, Skubal had a poor start today. 6 K's and 2 BBs. Of course he pitched 7 shutout innings.

One of the Dodger teams of the last few years played at a 116 win pace for like 4 1/2 months and then went on something like a 1-15 stretch.

The only way it works is excluding the Reds and Brewers but that requires backdating to May 26. 10-12, take out the 6-3 against the Central teams puts you at 4-9. And even then it's still really dumb for all the reasons everyone else has mentioned so far.

Again, why are we focused on the last 13 games while ignoring the 13-8 record against over .500 teams before then? If the Cubs started 4-9 but then went 13-8 would you have the same narrative? Probably not. There are intelligent reasons to critique the Cubs. You're just not making them.

Okay good to know we've cleared that up. Mets > Cubs > Dodgers since the Dodgers are .500 against over .500 teams and we won the season series against them.

It was frustrating in that we knew we had a ton of talent yet were playing .500 baseball. I know it was also exciting because we had a ton of young talent, but right now we’re winning games. In 2016 we won games right from the start. Winning is more fun to me. That’s not to say 2015 wasn’t fun and exciting. But if I’m ranking the three years of 15, 16 and 25, the 2015 season ranks third (obviously this year could still take a down turn, though hopefully not).

The last two months of 2015 were great but the first 4 were frustrating. Sure we ended with 97 wins but we were 52-47 on July 28. The 2016 season was great outside of a 3 week stretch where we went 5-15. The other 142 games we beat the horsefeathers out of the league at a 112 win pace.

And even then, they play Mon and Thu in Florida, but then Sat back in Edmonton. Os they have the extra day off when they’re staying in Florida.

Slightly different angle, this thing could have gone in directly, goalie could have accidentally knocked it in or the Oilers player could have knocked it in accidentally. And yet it stays out.

Watching at a bar in Vancouver. That was a fun reaction when they tied it.
