  1. If LSU stomps Va. Tech, would that change your mind? I agree though, Oklahoma is scary good. That'd make it close, but I'd still probably put OK on top. Washington State/BSU sure was weird. 24-10 at the end of one quarter...24-10 final score. If LSU stomps Va Tech they should be ranked higher than OU. Miami is garbage. At least the Hokies are decent.
  2. Anyone know what the deal is with Z and the high socks.
  3. Boo Chicago Cubs. HOORAY FOOTBALL!!!
  4. Well, it's either that or you're a Mormon.
  5. I was going to say that it should say something about ND's defense that Georgia Tech only got to third down 6 times in the game but then I looked up the stats and GT was 5-13 on the game in third downs. Lou Holtz has to be one of the worst analysts on TV right now. I mean, you can accuse a lot of guys about having a bias but Lou openly displays his in refusing to pick against ND and South Carolina ever. It's like a real life version of the old SNL skits with the Bears fans picking their team to beat anybody. You could match Notre Dame up against an NFL All-Star team and Lou would pick Notre Dame to win.
  6. Small positive: Tyler Colvin drew 2 walks.
  7. The Cubs scoring 1 run today was so unbelievably predictable.
  8. I lived with my girlfriend from April through July of last year but that was due to a situation that would take too long to explain. She didn't want to live with me before we got engaged but living together than was, by far, the best option we had. I had my own place last year but we're engaged now and living together. I had nothing against living together while just dating her but she didn't want to before getting engaged.
  9. If ever a team were going to score negative runs, it's going to be the Cubs today. Rich Hill pitching for the Cubs + lefty on the mound for the opponent = 3-1 loss.
  10. Those Marlins sure do suck, eh. What's that? They swept the Cubs at Wrigley earlier this year? Well I'll be damned.
  11. Are we talking about what is the case right now? If so, Gallardo is certainly not as good as Hill, and Villanueva is nowhere close to Lilly. If we're talking about potential then I guess we can also say that Pie >= Corey Hart too. Gallardo has a career 103 ERA+, Hill has a 104 ERA+ and Gallardo's is extremely heavily influenced by one bad start in Colorado. He also gave up 7 ER against St. Louis and 5 ER in SF. And Rich Hill's career ERA+ is highly influenced by 40ish innings in 2005 and his first four starts of 2006 combined.
  12. Thank goodness I have to cover a UCD soccer game tomorrow. At least now I won't be tempted to watch any of this game.
  13. I'm in.
  14. You're not exactly going out on a limb by saying this... without injuries, McFadden and Brohm are the two guys virtually guaranteed to go in the top 5 next year. Probably Jake Long, too. Yeah, I know. If he would have declared last year he probably would have been at the top also. I will go out on a bit more of a limb (not that that's saying much) and say that he'll win the Heisman this year. Booty is going to get a ton of consideration because he plays for USC. Brohm will also get more respect than Brennan because Louisville actually plays in a BCS conference even though their schedule is fairly easy as well.
  15. I bet Brohm will be the top QB selected in the 08 draft. Not sure if he'll go No. 1 overall because that depends on what the team picking needs.
  16. Dempster is fine. There's no need to demote him.
  17. It's gotta be Ted Williams. He'd probably have the RBI record, #2 in total bases, #3 or #4 in HR's.
  18. There has been over 750 yards of offense in the first half of this game. 38-35 Louisville right now.
  19. Not as many as Michigan will get. That will depend on whether or not Michigan loses next week - which is definitely a possibility. And App St. wins. I still see an 0-2 Michigan getting more votes than a 2-0 App St. If Michigan loses at home to Oregon, regardless of what the score is, I'll be surprised if they even get any votes. I'd expect a 2-0 App State to get more votes than a 0-2 Michigan. There's only one way to find out, though. Go Oregon!! EDIT: And considering App State plays DII Lenoir-Rhyne, I highly doubt they lose. Unless they go UC Davis on us.

  21. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3008022 So how many votes does App State get in next week's AP poll?
  22. Brohm is really boosting his Heisman resume with this game.
  23. The Louisville-Mid Tennessee State game has 35 points and 370 yards of offense halfway through the first quarter.
