1. Soriano's 11th home run in September.
2. WTF is going on with One Pitch today?
3. Even though I hate the guy, it would be amazing to have a bat like that in the lineup.
4. Do you have any backup plans for tickets if you don't end up getting them in the lottery Sunday morning? I'm not ready to let not getting tickets that day ruin my plans, but at the same time, I'm not looking to pay obscene prices to be at these games, since I'll already be in need of a plane ticket for the weekend. I'm just worried that they'll end up being impossible to get for any less than 4x face value if the VWR doesn't work out. Wait, so Columbus Day is October 8, right? I'm totally going to look into going to Chicago if the Cubs made the playoffs. Since the 8th is a holiday, we probably won't have a paper that day which means I wouldn't have to work Sunday night. If I could get Saturday night off that would give me Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off from work. One of my girlfriend's best friends lives in Chicago so I could probably stay with her as well.
5. I could see Billy Beane signing him if the price was right.
6. Agreed. Once this season is over, then I'll worry about Prior.
7. So you're saying that a) Hitting 58 home runs in a year isn't flukish. and b) Hitting 58 home runs in your first full season in the majors isn't flukish. I really don't see how his 2006 season wasn't flukish. I'm not saying it was a complete fluke as he is a good hitter with a ton of power but he's not going to replicate that year in and year out.
8. Just saw a report that said Mallett will start for UM against PSU tomorrow.
9. Ugh. Brewers win. Oh well, hopefully the Braves can at least split the next two games. It would be great if they won both but I'd be happy if the finished with a series split.
10. This isn't the least bit surprising.
11. Keener - Are you trying to do it in Premium? Because I tried it in Premium as well and it screwed the whole thing up just like it did with yours. I tried it in the regular UI and it worked just fine.
12. Ok EJ can I sig this?Seriously? Ok I cant figure this crap out lol
He couldn't have hit that pitch with Geo's penis. He missed that by a mile.
Quote this post and then copy and past the text that is within the code.
13. So did Paul Maholm. Not really. Maholm had a 4.94 ERA in 5 starts and 31 innings against the Cubs in his career and that only got worse today. He was 4-0 vs. the Cubs coming into today's game.
14. Hill pitching for the Cubs + Zach 'Cub Killer' Duke pitching for the Pirates = 2-1 Cubs loss. Zach Duke has made 7 starts against the Cubs in his career: 51.7 IP, 47 H, 10 BB, 12 R, 9 ER, 1.57 ERA
15. Ok EJ can I sig this?Seriously? Sure. I was drunk on Geo at the time. If you're going to do it, Keener, you have to put all three of these lines in the sig.
16. Hey whiny Brewer fan, How many games has Prince Fielder missed this year due to injuries? How about Ryan Braun? Sure doesn't hurt to have your best hitters not have to spend a month on the DL and, in Rammy's case, have a nagging injury that forces him to have periodic days off to keep him relatively healthy. It also sure is unlucky for the Brewers to call up Ryan Braun in the last week of May only to see him hit 31 home runs in 3.5 months. Not a big deal. I mean, it's only a pace for 49 home runs on the year. You also have a career year out of Prince Fielder. J.J. Hardy had 25 home runs in 1253 PA's in his minor league career and he's got 25 in 592 PA's with the Brewers this year. And boy are the Cubs lucky that Carlos Zambrano has put up his worst ERA in his six years as a starter this year. And as for single game breaks? How about Rickie Weeks going Albert Pujols on Brad Lidge the other day? Yeah, I know Houston still won the game, but that thing shouldn't have gone into the tenth inning. It's not the Cubs' fault that your team can't win a road series if their lives depended on it. The Brewers are 31-47 on the road this year which is tied with the Giants for 6th worst road record in the majors. All of the teams with road records as bad or worse than the Brewers are at least 13 games under .500 (Texas is the best at 70-83). Your team blew an 8.5 game lead in a little over 5 weeks. EDIT: And the Cubs sure got lucky that they were stupid enough to leave their best catcher in AAA until September. Lucky us.
17. Two down. Finish this thing, Demp.
18. Alright, Bautista. Time to stop fouling off pitches and just make an out.
